I have had this problem since day 1 with audio EMP, and I mean the very first day I played it, I thought it was some kind of new killstreak lol. Since then it has happened on several other occasions, and I cannot see any sort of pattern with headphones, without headphones, old headphones, new headphones, low volume, high volume, you get the idea. Tried every combination to no avail.

I ran into it today, the last time i ran into it was when i last posted in this topic. It didn't just happen once, not twice, not even three times. It happened a grand total of 6 times in about a 3 hour time period, usually it only happens once and its done. It finally blew my turtle beach headset. This is absolute bullshit. They need to fix it. It has been around since mw2, this issue does not effect any other platform, no other game for this platform. These so called developers need to get their thumbs out there asses and fix this game. Its sad that they have let all these bugs and issues to go on with this series. Fix the damn game or you will start to lose costumers to to your negligence. By right i should take you to small claims to force you to pay for my headset.

You have just been lucky since you have changed your settings. My setting is below 75 in the game options and i still ran into it. This happens at random, you can go days, weeks, months without hearing it and boom it drop on you from out of nowhere.

Well its too late for me, my speakers are blown. This noise is above the volume level of my tv settings and cant be turned down. You must turn off the system immediately or your speakers will be mush. Because it happens randomly no-one is prepared, who has their tv remote in their hands to shut down the set at a moments notice Hopefully some sort of comp will come out of this. The problem does remain..Just this past week it did it to me again.
Thanks

i can also vouch that this goes beyond the volume setting of the tv. should get people to list whether they're using hdmi/composite/optical and what video settings they use on the ps3, may help get this fixed and/or acknowledged as an actual problem.

BigggFuzzyG;
As per usual nothing has changed. More updates and none pertaining to the real problems in this game. I know there was just an update yesterday and I understand it was for some perk fixes. Which to me is a joke. There are more important issues with this game then a hot fix for some perks. This "Audio EMP" is more serious and important than that. I would like to think some of you out there would agree, Seeing as some have lost equipment due to this effect.

This has been an issue since day one and is not tied to headset use. I have experienced this with bluetooth, with hard-lined Turtle Beach headsets, and while not running a headset at all. I last experienced it a few days ago. My fingers are crossed that it was addressed in the patch I downloaded last night, but given that it has been a problem since release, I won't hold my breath.

Yeah I know my TBs are blown because I went back to play BO and the sound when a nuke went off in zombies was horrible!
I am going to replace my headsets, but not until BO2 is out (why replace them now only to have the speakers blown again?). When BO2 is out, my current headset and MW3 disc are getting shelved.

Using HDMI, have had it happen when using the stereo sound built into my TV, as well as my surround sound from my Pioneer Elite receiver.
