MW3 Flawless Discussion - Luck or Skill? What's your opinion?

Just something I was curious about for quiet some time, which plays a bigger role when you go flawless? Considering all the epic ways you can die in this game such as random explosions (spontaneous combustion, drums, cars, mopeds etc not flaming), dead mans nuke, last stand, lag hit detection, bad spawns/getting payback spawned on not to mention support spam/bomber/uav. I'll be the first one to admit that for me personally, luck definitely factors into the equation lol. What's your opinion, luck or skill/experience? ![]()
Have a great weekend guys ![]()

Congrats on the 100k views mate, and the 500 sub threshold!!
Ha ha there's alot of ways to die in this game isn't there.
To answer your question I believe there is both an element of luck and skill involved in going flawless. I have had several flawless games and i have gotta be honest and say that probably all of them have had some element of luck involved.
A prime example is the gameplay of mine you posted with the cm901, man my screen was red half the game lol. I got hit by about 5 grenades and barrels blowing up but i was still alive. At the same time though, skill is required to make the right decision at the right time and not only that, once you've made your decision you have to pull through and implement it, (I.e evade or kill etc).
So i guess it's 50/50.
:)
Thanks man appreciate it, and yes many awesome ways lol. I'd have to agree, both seem to play a part to some degree. As for specialist bonus, gotta love it. Is it just me? Blast shield seems vastly underpowered, but when you hit that specialist bonus it's a completely different story lol. I swear the blast damage you can take while on bonus goes up immensly, almost feels like blops flak jacket, but somehow even stronger lol ![]()
I would say it's luck. If you can avoid all those causes of death that's out of you control (enemy spawns, lag, random explosions) it greatly assists in going flawless
The best flawless match I've ever had playing MW3 was 37-0. My connection was solid and the enemy was always in front of me. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Of course I imagine if I were on the other end I'd be complaining about how terrible the spawns were and how my poor connection was only benefiting the other guy
Great points about "causes of death that's out of your control" that's exactly what I was getting at lol. This game my connection was decent (not 4 bar though), at one point with the PP90m1 you can see me shooting the 2 guys in the corner, I kept shooting even after they had died in video (Had to shoot till I seen points show up on my screen) in game as there was a delay on the kills.
I'll take that as another vote for luck lol, so far the score stands:
Luck 2.5
Skill 0.5

At one point someone sprayed a shotgun 3 times at you cqb, yet you didn't die & killed him instead. Seems like you had that wanted perk, everybody dropped instantly and you had some favorable moments. I guess playing defensively like this with a fully auto ar is the way to go flawless.
Got caught calling in my cobra, had to bust some ninja dance juke moves man lol
(His aim wasn't the greatest either). But yeah no wanted perk, this game my connection was decent (not 4 bar though), at one point with the PP90m1 you can see me shooting the 2 guys in the corner near the building entrance next to the Jeep, I kept shooting even after they had died in video (Had to shoot till I seen points show up on my screen) in game as there was a delay on the kills. As for "the way to go flawless" using Assassin or Specialist would be much more easier and effective, this game I was using Hardline which made me vulnerable to UAV spam and explosives. Even still as mentioned earlier, luck definitely factors into the equation lol.
I think it is 3/4 luck and 1/4 skill. When I realize that the game is almost done and I am still flawless I start to play different, waiting other players out instead of rushing into them. Perhaps I don't need to cap a flag, etc.
Great points and true people do tend to tighten up their playstyle when getting close, unless running out of time to hit a moab or something. Speaking of which I was 1 off an assault ![]()
100% luck i dont care how great you are at the game with all the random explosions and the spawns its hard to get a flawless game
"Random explosions and spawns" exactly, this game took it to a whole new level lol.
It's both if you ask me. There are some good solo guys and some really good clan players and I hate when I run into them honestly. However, I think luck plays a bigger role as I agree with what you said, there are way to many bs deaths in this game.
I love when I start off going like 5 to 10-0 then walk by a car that just blows up..uugghhh. Then after that I can't hit crap as I'm getting drilled left and right and I'm lucky if I can finish even. I try to play for fun but I end up po'd pretty much every game do to complete luck gernade tosses or complete bs "curving around corner bullets".
Then there are the spawns at times lol, ugghhh (though there is only so much they can do on smaller maps when you think about it). I start of rushing to get the guys that do the same thing every map start for the first easy kill, but then slow down and try to play smart but the amount of crazy luck shots where there was NO line of site but yet you get shot, stair at one spot for 20 sec to then turn around and BOOM, shot in the back (because they round the corner the second you give up, I'm famous for this and I HATE it lol).
The sad thing is, there really isn't a whole lot they can do to fix any of this other then re doing the netcode from the ground up so that everyone is on a pretty even playing field. Sure, the internet is no where near perfect but the current system then have in place really sucks and is so inconsistant it really kills the fun.
Here's hoping the next one is much better and a good step in the right direction.
This pretty much summed up the general points
Probably one of the most honest general reviews on the day to day I've ever heard lol.
i think it's a little of both
Yup with this game, luck definitely factors into the equation lol ![]()
