Spawn System

Question: Do you preffer the spawn system in black ops or MW3?

 

My personal opinion:

 

Black ops has a very good spawn system and i would not change it no matter what. If we look at the gameplay in MW3 its really unorganized and at random. ALOT of the times and i mean ALOT i find myself being spawned right beisde the enemy or nowhere near my teams spawn. WHY? i really dont know. In black ops the spawns were very organized, demolishon was a very good example of that. Your team spawns on one end of the map and the other team on the otherside. This only makes sense right? It defines which side is yours and which side is the enemies so even if you dont have a UAV up you know which way to look. I have no idea what they did to MW3 but there are no sides. Theres no sense of direction, no idea where to look, and you cant prepare yourself if the entire team is infront of you but then starts to get spawned right behind you. Black ops was very good with the spawn system, it was simple and i hope it is kept this way. Don't do what has been done in MW3 where they have tried their hardest to make it all advanced and complex, they just made the game stupid to the point where in free for all you might as well just start shooting when your spawned because chances are a guy is about to run out infront of you.

 

Overall in my personal opinion keep this basic spawn system because it makes the game very enjoyable.

    Spawn system was great in Black Ops.

     

    Liberation one of the biggest maps in MW3 still has spawn problems, WTF?

     

    MW3 spawns suck.

     

    Can't wait for BO II

    I prefer the Black Ops spawn system, and after hearing how many people complained about MW3's system, I highly doubt that Treyarch would be dumb enough to use it for there game.

    Spawn system was not great in Black Ops, it was much better than MW3, yes, but not great.

     

    Your recently downed enemy could be spawned in your path just seconds away knowing where you were, your likely direction and sometimes you'd still be reloading when set upon. How is that perfect?

     

    Furthermore, maps Nuketown, Launch and Summit all suffered incredibly from flip-spawning. As all 3 maps had a kind of thin rectangular shape, tha spawn point would suddenly swap sides rather than rotate around the map (which on such maps would be pretty bad too). This often results in the last man of one spawn heading off (possibly with helpful UAV info) to get the 6 enemies ahead only to suddenly be chopped down from behind (in such cases the UAV reveals 3 dots suddenly behind as the enemy flip-spawned).

     

    Then there's Havana which behaved a bit like those 3 and Jungle. Jungle having a mental area around the old temple where spawns hop and merge and there's 3 ways to be cut down after spawning.

     

    The only people I can think of who think Black Ops spawns were super are people who have only played BOps and MW3.MW and MW2 spawns were a bit better than BOps, mostly because they didn't have these thin flip maps, but for ultimate spawns, it's gotta be WAW!

     

    WAW had super spawns on all large and middle-sized maps, and good spawns on small maps. The key was rounded maps, not necessarily circular, but shaped in such a way that teams seemed to push for territory and your killed enemy would be placed far away, often with your team nearer to him than you.

     

    That's something I think should be taken out of BOps and MW3 style of spawns, NEVER EVER SPAWN A KILLED ENEMY ANYWHERE NEAR TO THE KILLER. 10 times more information than a killcam, from being killed and then spawned round the corner - in front often - you know where they are, where they'll be, when they'll be there, you're ready, your loaded and you nemesis doesn't expect you.

     

    No, Black Ops spawns are far from perfect and when I spawned on Nuketown once (never mind the hundreds of enemies spawning in the same back garden), I was placed on top of an enemy SentryGun. I couldn't see it, so when I moved off the spawn spot, guess.... Mowed down.

    Probably Black Ops, because it's been out longer. Both had terrible spawn systems when they were released.

    Spawns will never be perfect in any call of duty game just for the fact the maps are not really big. Blackops spawns were 100x better than what is in mw3. What they should work on is detecting enemies near the spawn radius of a given spawn location. If someone just died in this spot DONT SPAWN THEM THERE. The spawns in blackops did there best to spawn you as far away from the enemy as it could but on some maps there is just no way to do it.

    Black Ops has better spawn, but MW3 aren't you f***ing lazy to fix it? Really annoys me! I was middle of killstreak trying to get MOAB but ended up getting killed by someone spawned behind me!

    I have never been a fan of the CoD flip-spawn system.

     

    The spawning areas should fixed at either the top or bottom of the map - depending on the faction you are playing.

     

    To counter spawn killing a player should have a 10 second spawn shield window.

     

    This wouldn't eliminate spawn-trapping, which is a good thing as spawn-trapping requires a team effort and should be the objective of most gamemodes anyway.

     

    In Black Ops the map size contributed to the spawn-killing. The bigger the map the less likely you are to get spawn killed. Conversely the smaller the map the more likely you are to be repeatedly spawn killed.

        i actually dont mind it for some game modes like team death for example because otherwise it would just be about spawn trapping for all the game modes if the flip didnt exist and it would make the game boring, atleast thats what i think. But i do feel that it should be taken out of more game modes since demolishon is the only one that i know of that uses set spawns for the entire game.

        Spawn trapping an enemy team takes skill and teamwork - as does breaking the trap and turning the tables on the enemy team.

    I never had a problem with the spawn system in Black Ops but it's caught me out many times in MW3

      In the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta the spawing areas are protected by a 'you're leaving the battlezone turn back or you automatically die' message.

       

      Might be worth a try in CoD.

    The spawns in mw2 were the best of all. With skill levels going down due to the weapons they provide (SMG noobs: you know who you are) and the maps getting smaller which allows spawn rushers to kill someone who has JUST spawned (SMG noobs: you know who you are), how can you POSSIBLY have any good spawns??? I say make the run speed the same for all weapons, decrease the damage on the SMGs, and make bigger maps. Can't shoot across the bigger maps? GET BETTER. Put in some time for practice, don't arm bad kids with noob friendly guns that easily takes the place of ACTUALL SKILL.
