Where to pre order from?

Posted by TrixProdigy on May 4, 2012 1:04 PM

What place or site should I pre-order from Walmart, Amazon, Gamestop, ect...? What is the pros and cons of pre-ordering from these places?

Amazon has the best price (although someone just posted that they raised it) and Gamestop you get a double sided poster. Not sure about Wallmart though, ethier way I will be waiting until they announce the Hardened edition before pre-ordering personally. Also they very well could come out with more promotions yet. So I'd hold off for a couple of weeks or so if I were you.

I was gonna wait to, but I just saw on another thread that if you go through Gamestop, when they announce the Hardened edition you can simply upgrade your pre-order and your good to go. I think I'm probably gonna do it that way now.

at gamestop, if you order online, you put in your credit card ifo to pay, but they don't charge your card until it ships, so you can just change your order anytime before november 12th, without putting any money down. with black ops and mw3 i ordered early, then when the hardened editions came out, i just cancelled my earlier order and ordered the hardened edition. if you are a power up rewards member, you get the prestige token, but i don't think you get the poster, at least i didn't, or nothing was said about it...

about getting the game early, i've ordered the last 3 cod games from gamestop and paid the 10 bucks for overnight shipping and always got the game about 10 am on release day.

I was going to wait but I have heard from a few people if you pre-order from a website you can get the game before the release date.

Don't know if that is true

I haven't heard about the website that can get you the game before the release date, but GameStop in the United States has a pretty good pre-order incentive program.

If you put down $25 when you pre-order Black Ops 2, you get a double sided Black Ops 2 poster right there and then and you have the option to upgrade to any edition that Black Ops 2 ends up putting out; you just pay the difference.

Also, if you're a GameStop Powerup member, you also get an MW3 Prestige Token code.

      Amazon = Possible Lower Price

Gamestop = Five pieces of free content over 5 months with pre order over 5 months (Including poster)

      Walmart = Usually Ships quickly

      Hopes this helps your descision!

I don't believe you. If it were true you would have said the company name. There's absolutely no reason to be all esoteric about it unless your feeding us a line of bull. Now for god's sake ethier say the companies name or GTFO with your bullcrap.

Amazon will give you whatever price it drops to until the release date (including), even if the price goes back up for a 12 hour special for example. any extras that come with it will all be guaranteed from the time you order it to the release date. This CAN all build up. amazon will change the "release date delivery" to 99 cents and you WILL get it on release day, this has happened 6 times with the last 6 games I ordered.

Gameestop does have the token thing but it doesnt reveal what it is used for. The poster will very likely be gone withing two months from now because they even stated on their site that those quantities are extremely limited.

10 years with amazon (or more) . If they mess up, rarely, then they will fix it. Thats why I always choose them.

BTW Amazon doe NOT charge tax to about 46 states. Gamestop and Walmart dot com will charge you sales tax. So ordering from amazon will save you around 8 to 10 percent.

I pre-ordered the day I heard about it and if I decide to cancel about three days before the game comes out (processing date) I would have NEVER had to pay a single penny.

And some things you get from Gamestop you have to have their stupid card you have to pay to use. Like the bonuses.

Josh could be telling the truth.

But 39 pounds is equivalent of 63 US dollars. At Amazon UK store the price is about 42 pounds. So what if he got it a few dollars / pounds cheaper.

I paid 59.99 DOLLARS at amazon dot com and THAT is less than him. And my 59.99 price I paid is guaranteed not to go up. But it most likely will drop.

BTW there is no way that his retailer will get it any more than one day sooner. That happens usually by mail order games . The shop who sells them will lose their licence to sell games from Activision. Last year Kmart had to pay a fine for selling games early.

Yeah, he could be. Although there's no reason to be esoteric. People have asked him repeatedly where he ordered it from and he won't say. I find that fishy is all.

Well what do you expect others to believe when 70 percent of your speeling is way off and you cant post a bit of proof to back your claims.

You wont even post their name. Sounds fishy to a lot of people.

It comes down to this. You KNOW we can easily look up the sellers name on the internet based on the info you gave us. But it comes down to the fact you cant even mention their name. You refuse to mention who they are to back your claim when all we gotta do is look them up.

I pre-ordered from Gamestop, you don't only get a double sided poster but Modern Warfare 3 goodies for in-game. If you haven't already looked into Gamestop I would do it now it's the same price with free goodies for pre-ordering.

Returned your PM but YES you can change the shipping address up until the day they start processing your order. In this case it COULD be 3 to 5 days before the release date. When they mass-ship these before release they put one in an envelope and send them down the line to the label machine.

Just to let everyone know. Amazon TODAY just added release date delivery for Black Ops 2 as a shipping option. It wasnt there yesterday.

And guess what, Release Date Delivery is only 99 cents. And I live out in the farmlands of Texas. They most likely will charge me on Friday a few days before the release date, but I get it on Tuesdays release date.

So considering the fact of no tax AND 99 cent delivery you may want to consider THAT option.

I have no tax with Gamestop, I also get a poster and got MW3 goodies. It's free deliver as well (I pick it up anytime after day of release).

        AFTER day of release ?????

There is something wrong with that because Gamestop dot com always DOES charge tax and the store also must charge tax. Except certain states where the brick and mortar stores dont..

and you arent getting free delivery you are just picking up the item at the store. Hence your delivery charge is your time and the gas to get there. Multiply that by TWO since you had to go there to pre-order it.

So how can you be getting it no tax ? You live in Oregon ? You lucky lucky turd

What I meant by 'after day of release' is at 12:01 midnight lol

It turns out I did pay tax but I'm a gamestop member so I get a certain % off of purchases. I love next to Gamestop so they said just pick it up at no charge.
