I agree 100000%. I love Combat Training, and still go back and play it to this day. There are several reasons I want them to bring it back.
- What you said. I struggled with some of the weapons and killstreaks in Black Ops at first, Combat Training allowed me to experiment with various setups and weapons without making my teammates suffer during the learning curve. There were certain maps that just flummoxed me, and playing them in Combat Training allowed me to learn them and figure out strategies, site lines, and just learn the basic layout.
- There were times when I just got fed up with the shenanigans of the community and didn't want to play live. Some nights on CoD are just frustrating, whether it be how people play (camping, cheating, etc) or just get tired of listening to people in the lobbies. It was a nice break to go in and play the dummies for a while.
- It was just plain fun to beat up on the dummies. I'm an average player, admittedly, and it was fun to be able to go in and dominate. I enjoyed challenging myself to use weapons I wasn't as comfortable with or set challenges for myself like trying to win the match with just my knife, etc. I set up games in there to challenge myself, such as just using a pistol, having to pick up the weapon of the dummy I just killed and use it for the next kill and so on... and I usually played 1 on 9. It allows a level of control and fun you just don't get in the public lobbies.
- It made me a better player. I don't think its a coincidence that BlOps is the CoD game in which I have my highest K/D and win ratio.
I am with you, I am hoping they bring it back with improvements (I want to be able to prestige in there, and perhaps play other game types that I wouldn't normally play, ould be a great way to learn them!)
