Seriously, you need to relax.
Who is to say they won't have Mechanical Legs, you have no evidence they won't, the game is more like a "What if" kind of setting.
So what if they don't have Mech Legs in 13 years time, it's a game, they can be as realistically unrealistic as they want.

Dude the US will not have a mechanized army in 13 years time. Espcially not one large enough to the point if it were taken over it would be a major threat to natinal security. We will not have automated mech killing machines in 13 years. We will not have walker tanks in 13 years. Don't say prove it because that sounds really ignorant. Based of the past and the progression of current technology, it is very unlikley to have mech tanks in 13 years.

Yeah so the walking tank really isn't that much of a stretch for 13 years. Not like it matters anyway because we all know that it's a video game right? Well actually, maybe not. Some folks are so unbelievably nerdy that they're actually splitting hairs in here over technicalities in order to troll, when the basis of these games has never been to tow the extremely accurate simulator line. That being said though, there really isn't much in there that you can honestly jump on as being too much into the future. We're not going to be running around with plasma rays and lazer beams so I wouldn't declare cod as having jumped the shark. Chill out and enjoy something different. Im psyched.
relax about the game, anyways anything is possible we already got horseback
I think people have a hard time imagining it because they don't understand how technology advances. It's predicted that with our current rate or progress in technology, we'll see 100 years worth of growth, in the span of only 25 years. That's what's important to understand. And that was about 10 years ago. By 2025, it's not unreasonable to assume that we'll have seen a rate of progress that takes us to this level of technology.
It's difficult to explain in just one paragraph post, but I'd recommend doing a little reading if you really think it's too far-fetched. I found one such article that talks about something known as The Law of Accelerating Returns. Here's a little excerpt from it:
http://www.kurzweilai.net/the-law-of-accelerating-returns
An analysis of the history of technology shows that technological change is exponential, contrary to the common-sense “intuitive linear” view. So we won’t experience 100 years of progress in the 21st century — it will be more like 20,000 years of progress (at today’s rate). The “returns,” such as chip speed and cost-effectiveness, also increase exponentially. There’s even exponential growth in the rate of exponential growth. Within a few decades, machine intelligence will surpass human intelligence, leading to The Singularity — technological change so rapid and profound it represents a rupture in the fabric of human history. The implications include the merger of biological and nonbiological intelligence, immortal software-based humans, and ultra-high levels of intelligence that expand outward in the universe at the speed of light.
And here's a wikipedia article explaining a little more about this:
People will complain and they will still buy it. Then they will complain that Activision forced them to buy the game. Then they will cry that Activision forced them to buy Elite 2.0. Then they will cry when they get killed.
This and other threads already have proved in in this forum alone.
As for the unrealistic part.....
Thee are at least a couple dozen games based on REAL wars and times that have been developed since the video game was invented. Some of those games had a WW2 scenario and a secret weapon that couldnt possibly exist in the real world.
Well guess what.
Video
Games
Arent
Real
Life.
Once you realize that then you might realized you still are going to buy the game and complain about all the things anyway.
This thread is full of whiners wanting to be the first to cry about the game. Well now you got to be that crowd.
Go get a hug from mommy or something. And for once in your life dont buy the game if you dont like it. the devs owe you nothing especially BEFORE the game even comes out.
hate to break it to you..
but we're in 2012..
walking military machines exist, they may be working protypes but they do exist the technology is already proven, the only thing left to really do to meet the 2025 "deadline" would be to scale them up in size"
I couldnt see one thing in that trailer that was tewch that isnt either protyping atm or not possible remember those things arent really "robots" they are remote controlled machines or UaV which do exist now with fight capabilities
No need to post a link to this one video, should've just put the link to the interactive trailer, these videos were combined in it.

Do walking tanks exist? No. Would the US replace the Abrams with walking tanks in 13 years? No. The logical answers to these questions are no.
