Yes, you are hurting the game for the entire lobby. Your connection has additional overhead and latency due to the nature of it. The network code has to cover your increase in lag and adjust everyone in the room because of you. It not fair for others in the same lobby with you to be affect because you are breaking the rules. So, you are knowing breaking XBL policy and cheating others out of their gaming experience. People like you need to growup and follow the rules.

First off I don't play on XBL smart one, so I am not breaking rules. Plus it's not a rule, it's not recommeded. No amount of lag compensation can change your ping. It just delays the request, but oh wait it's over UDP so I don't think that's even possible. If I can play on 3bar then I don't see the issue. Just because you have a good connection that doesn't mean it's performing good. You could have a lot of packet loss or packet fragmentation that makes your connection worse then mine. Again a player with high pings should not affect a player with low ping, unless the game is programmed to do so. Which is not my fault now is it. I guess you are connectionist. Would you want me to get ISDN with low ping, but crappy speeds. So my uplink can get congested and my pings would be higher anyway. I will contine to use my 3g connection to play online, and so will thousands of others. It won't change, so the fact that you are complaining about it is pointless. And thus this argument can end because it's just wrecking mac's awesome thread. I probably pay more for my connectiont hen yours, I pay $70 bucks a month, I am glad if lag comp helps me, but it doesn't at all.

I know, but the argument wasn't only subjective to the MW3 360 version, nonetheless it is a 360 thread.. Since I have questions as well, everyone says to port forward, but wouldn't port triggering be important as well. I mean, if your hosting something you port forward, and if you need to connect to something you port trigger. My router only has a gaming rule which does both under one rule, there is no port forward or port triggering only option, but I have see them before.

Ever since the last title update, 3-4 weeks ago, I always had <75ms ping games and 4bar connection to now a constant 3bar connection and I'll be lucking to find a <100ms game. My NAT type is open, but even when I had even just a moderate connection I consistently got good connection until 3-4 weeks ago.
As a result the games are incredibly inconsistent from game to game, and during the game. Regardless of whether I am host or not. I'd love to get it back to 4bar. It's becoming unplayable.
Any help would be appreciated.

I use my xbox with wireless connection, how should i handke the mtu? does it have to be exact same with the wireless connection or is it ok if it is slightly different than my main computers mtu. Should i adjust my mtu with a laptop so i know the wireless mtu size and use that for my xbox also? thanks.

treat it same as you would doing it for a wired connection.. if you have to use wireless to play (wired is always better) its a good idea to swap channels to the highest one you have less chance of interference with other things in your house,
