Hello.
I will try to explain my problem to you, but my english is not so well. Hope u can understand me.
I bought the game Modern Warfare 3 for my PC. I installed and started it. After that i just did the normal steps to play:
Play--> there are 3 options to choose (easy, hard, community list(Don´t really know how it is called in english i only have the german version))--->Teamdeathmatch, search and destroy,.... (Game Mode) . Than it starts to search for games, but it doesnt find none. After that i made a private Game with a friend of mine, and that worked!! So I know that my PC is not to bad for that game. We also tried to make a party and than try to join a server, but that also don´t work. there is errror message: Connection failed. Than i started to search on Youtube and Google but i really didn´t find a working sollution. So my question is what i can do to find offical games??? I start to get so disappointed. I would be so grateful if u can help me....

Hello PleaseSmile,
I am sorry to hear you are having this problem. When this sort of error occurs, it can either be a result of files on the system, or networking.
I recommend that you;
Go to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3\Players2, and delete your mp.cfg file.
Once this is done,
Launch the Steam application, and select Library.
Right click on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer, and select Properties > Local Files tab > Verify the Integrity of the Game Cache.
This will generate a new config file and will immediately tell you if this is a file problem.
If you continue to have problems beyond this, then the issue will be a networking problem. If that is the case, please provide us the model number of your Linksys router so we can help you get this solved.
First thanks a lot for the quick answer.
I tried out your first step. I deleted that file and after that i did what u said. But the check of my files was negative, there is everything all right with my system.
So i thing its a problem with my networking system.
I have got a linksys router wireless-G-ADSL-Home-Gateway.
The model number is: WAG454G
Hope so much that u can help me :/
Can you please confirm the model number of your router? For Linksys, the closest I can find to WAG454G is WAG54G.
Please confirm this so we can help you solve this problem.
Oh sorry.
My right model Number is: WAG354G
No worries! Here are the steps to try and get this resolved.
First you'll want to make sure you have a static IP for your PC (http://portforward.com/networking/static-win7.htm)
Once you have a static IP for your PC, you'll want to forward the ports for the game to be able to communicate properly with our servers.
At first thanks a lot for your immidiately help.
But unfortunately i just cant join servers. But now the NAT-Typ is not longer medium, it´s open. I followed the steps u posted. But maybe you have got another idea? Before i capitulate?
Repeat the steps for deleting and then verifying the Integrity of the Game Cache. You previous network settings are still saved in that file.
OMG u are so legandary. Thanks a lot. Now i can play if i join a party and than search a game. Alone it still doesn´t work but thats not so important because i play with friends all the time.
So one more time thank you so much.
