for the first week the game played good, but now well its just stupid. i have good connection but the lag is just out of control the insta death's are driving me insane, getting insta killed by a guy with silenced FMG9 is to much for me to put up with, the crap hit detection from my gun, getting shot around corners and in cover. activision/IW tell me how i am supposed to enjoy playing your game or am i just there as cannon fodder?
Play in a party, it gets even more interesting. Indeed, there is no "how can you play" you either play it the way it is, or you do not. Accept the fact if you are behind the lag comp, the broken match making for your experience, this is the game you got for your money.
Things you can try, set your routers MTU to 1496 or 1460 results vary, throttle your upstream traffic to 512 using QOS or take out the disc and find something else productive to do until November 13th and "hope" treyarch releases a version which is playable.
There is no fix, there will never be a fix - this is MW3
yeah looked into buying a router with QOS but u no what f*** it why pay another £100 so i can play mw3, i got my internet because it's advertised as the best for online games and for all other games it works good, but mw3 is just so bad now no wonder bowling went they don't fix it and he just took all the abuse. i got no idea what they are trying to do with this lag comp it was fine in mw2 and now this game is shite. BF3 FTW
Haha indeed, i have incredible internet and have the similar experience, every other game is absolutely fine, what can you do? Absolutely nothing except change what you do, learn from it and move on. I will proceed with caution when IW/Sledgehammer releases a game in the future, this experience cost me 120.00 and i learned alot from it.
Many have as well, many have no idea why it plays the way it does which is even more interesting. Good luck and i hope you enjoy whatever else you decide to do instead of playing MW3, suppose you could spend more time on the forums lol
Cheers mate!
I agree with thier connection system and thier security I doubt IW
will ever get another dime from me. I will reserve judgement
on 3Arch as to whether they can do BO2 any good.
I and many others have given up on MW3 and gone back to Black Ops, yes black ops can be bad at times with lag but not as bad as MW3. The problem with MW3 is the way they have setup the matchmaking so unless the new patch for matchmaking fixes it this game will go down as the worst COD ever made. The matchmaking is what increases your ping depending on what the average of the lobby is, it takes the average of everyone and gives that to all players. So if you have a ping of say 23 you may end up with a ping of 27 and someone with a ping of 34 will end up with 27ms ping and therefore have a better connection and that is why you will be a second behind that person. It was suppose to make game play better so everyone ends up with the same connection but that's not how it actually runs online. It was not tested in a proper environment and therefore is a failure and 11 title updates later is still a failure. The numbers of players on black ops is ever increasing and i am glad it is way less frustrating and more fun to play better maps to i think.

LOL
indeed, well put. Not 1, 2 or 3 or even 5, you got it, 11, same problem just different versions of it.
QOS wont do anything to lower your ping, set mine to 56kbps up and down still went into rooms with full bars its ping not bandwidth that matters.
Happens with every COD title. It starts out fun, then gets to the point where it is completely unplayable.
There is an update in the works (estimated early May) that is going to completely change how the matchmaking in game works. Hopefully this will solve everyone's problems as far as lag compensation goes.
What if it makes it worse. Capp00 and Macabbi will have to leave town ![]()
Haha. Nah, Mac especially has been around these parts forever, and is a trusted source for networking advice, as you know. Any new problems presented by this matchmaking update will be the fault of the IW devs, as I think the premise of this new matchmaking system makes sense.
The way I look at it, the matchmaking couldnt possibly get any worse( well, I tell myself this every time they update the game, and yet they continually surprise me), so it will most likely get better.
Just funnin' of course Mac and Capp00 are covering off on one key issue that if properly executed "should" make a difference.
By God, I find each patch to be a lucky dip...you just never know what's going to happen.
I am a raging optimist by nature, however with mw3 lag and server connection issues, I have learned to avoid disappointment by expecting to worst and being pleasantly surprised by improvement.
Here's hoping........
You mean they'll take six months to fix an issue that should have been solved by day 1?
You are asking the wrong person. The lag compensation is very hit and miss on players with good and bad connections alike. Some players with faster connections may lag while their neighbor does not. The number of people who are siverely affected by it is fewer that the ones who are not. And a company is always worried about keeping the majority happy. It is my opinion that they have been working on it for so long so that the do more good then they do harm as some other patches have.
i doubt they will fix this game IMO matchmaking is not the major problem, they need to stop adjusting peoples ping about if you have a crap ISP then your gaming experience should equal that. when the amount of people playing the game drops off then we will back to this situation again! its a broken system that doesn't advance the gaming community in any way!!!!!

No it should not. Some people can not afford better Internet or live in an area where it is not available. You should not get an unfair advantage just becuase you pay more. They need to have the matchmaking set up so that everyone is on a level playing field.......And in theory that is what their next update plans to do.
I don't think anyone is looking for an advantage. Right now, the weak connections are causing the strong connections to lag by a second or more. I think he just wants it balanced as do I. No one is looking for an advantage, just a fair game.
I think most want a fair game. I know some don't get it because of the lag comp. And that is not fair to them. Everyone disserves a level playing field. But I just disagree with people who tend to think that just because they pay for better Internet or have a better ISP because of where they live that the disserve to get a better connection in game then everyone else.
No, but they should at least get an equal chance which is not the case right now. I am all for fair.
As am I.
put together all the money they made on game sales, elite subscriptions, mtn dew/dorito kickbacks, map pack sales, special edition game consoles, and anything else they could slap a mw3 logo on and get dedicated servers!!!! stop being a tight a** with our money and get em. they have made how many millions?? or at the very least they can update patch whatever you wanna call it for the lag. yes the fastest internet with a crappy router will slow you up, but there are things they can do.
seems to me they don't want to lose this lag comp for the only reason i can think of is because they think it will bring new people to call of duty, but all it has done is made the game a complete joke, as for dedicated servers it will never happen while they keep bringing out a new game every year. all i can suggest to anyone who is fed up with this game is to give BF3 a try once u get into it u will not be disappointed!
For me its;
BUttery smooth one session;
SWimming through honey the next session;
LAg lag disconnect......3/5 games
Beenthis way since day one. Devs have tried to fix but no luck for me. I just have to put up with it.
im usually not one to agree with this sort of post but as of yesterday I HAVE TO AGREE. it was virtually unplayable so i gave it a rest and called my isp. they are here now checking everything out...let u all know what i find out later on.
i've ping tested my connection loads of times and there's nothing wrong with it, you will proberly find there's nothing wrong with your's its just the game. try pingtest.net and you can test to any server in the world
I actually agree, its worse now than on release, the last patch was terrible for connections.
