Why don't people use Recon?

I'm prestige 11 and I will stop there. Now my goal is to make all perks pro. Recon is pretty good.

What makes you think it is not used? Recon + Hardline is a popular loadout.

  Yes sir. Especially if you have hardline pro so that assists count toward your kill streak. I just use it for the xp......it's most effective in objective games.

    6 man party all using recon=win.
    Combine that with hardline pro and support streaks and you will see a massive spam of pointstreaks.

      Yeah, the combo only works effectively if you're in a decent party/clan.
      
      Otherwise, if you're a lone wolf with a bunch of randoms, from my experience trying it for a while, it makes little difference as those randoms are either lagging horribly or just plain suck so badly that they can't aim for anything and always die from ambushes or letting the enemy come right up from behind and kill them (because looking at the radar is too sacreligious and don't want to risk being called red dot chasers), so they hardly ever get the kills, thus no Assists for you.

I just started using it when I picked up my first shotgun lol ksg it's really helpful I'm a run and gun type player so I throw flash grenades to show me where they are then I go in for the kill but if I die my team mates know where they are. It's pretty cool I'm starting to use it with other types of guns now the bullet damage paints them too with pro

Although I would agree that not a lot of poeple use it, that doe snot mean that no one does.

I love doing it on Dome (esp. at the beginning of the match). I tell people I am using using recon and not to waste their flashes etc. I light everyone up on the screen and get a buttload of assists.

(yeah I said doe snot)

I play Hardcore only. I don't see the benefit of Recon in Hardcore. Is there one?

It's useful in SnD but I think there are better alternatives for other game modes.

  Not necessarily. Works well for most core game modes. Especially on opening nades or stun on maps like Dome, time your nade right, and you have a Blackbird for the opening seconds.

    Yes it works at the start, but to me sleight of hand pro is a much more useful perk.

      Depends on the playstyle. To me the guns in MW3 have decent reload times, only time I use it is if I'm running Overkill for God knows why. =/

Recon is almost over-used in CORE. Almost every time I get flashed/stunned I can guarantee that I got hit with RECON and even if I'm running assassin to stay away from the UAV-boosters I end up a big red triangle on their HUD.

That being said it is an amazing Perk and I love to use it. It really helps out your team a lot and if you run it with Hardline you hardly have to get any kills and you can get your killstreaks. Absolutely fabulous!!

i run recon as a specialist unlock on a few classes, i find as a stand alone perk, blind eye/scavenger/sleight of ahnd help more, but run on specialist its beast mode.

I've jumped from one blue perk to another

SoH>Scavenger>Recon>Blind Eye

In that order and in my time using them I found that Blind Eye is the most effective if the pro version is unlocked and you have a silenced LMG w/ stinger.

Recon is amazing but I've limited it to my SnD class only.

Recon + Flash bangs on most maps instantly lights up the entire enemy team if you know where and how to chuck the flash bangs.

  Yeah I have a class that has recon pro+hardline pro+specialist. I use it for MOAB attmempts, ground war games, any game on Dome.

Ok after reading your comments guys i think i will give it a try...i have SOH on every class cuz for my style of play i need to be able to reload fast but i will make a class with hardline and Recon see how it works

I honestly believe that Recon should be removed from S&D. It's way too easy for your team. Especially if the other team is scrubs and doesn't know about its effectiveness

A friend in my clan told me that recon and advance uav really helps out and so I tried it and it really helps the team. Plus you get loads of assists which help you rank up.

Not a great perk for HC players. Only useful on Dome, TBH.
