I play on Xbox and I get the I'm fat no life no one wants me and so on and I get called a boy all the time...and if I do run into another girl they're normally nasty towards me...I have a select few guys I play with and when guys try to talk crap I talk right back...if you're new to gaming you have to get used to them talking smack or just talk right back ;)

Unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of girls that come on here.  Buggle and azn_chic and maybe one or two others are the only ones I see with any regularity. 

Unfortunately mostly what you are prolly going to encounter is prolly more of the jokes and comments you are wanting to avoid.  Good luck to you though.
