Excellent video well done to the commentators.
What i recommend is getting these vidoes to well known youtube commentators i.e. xjawz, syndicateproject, woodysgamertag, whiteboy7thst. The amount of subscribers these commentators have will definetly make sure this video is seen by a larger amount of people.
so we'd get 6 videos asking for likes and subs before they release a new video with some major change that none of those mentioned would have a clue about explaining as their think as pig poop.
I couldnt think of anything worse than giving those sort of yt starz anything but bad press especially woody.. what would get you know what guys girls suffer from lag comp as they are built for it comments.
and lets not forget how great the yt starz are at annoucing stuff. elite.. wah omg the world is going to end cods going pay to play. screw the lot of em they are the main reason i hate the yt community

Macc & Capp, I'll put the link on our Blackout stuff. We aren't as large as them but we've gained a ton of followers. Should help get some more views your way to get the message out there.

Client payload is intentionally small. The issue with people throttling their connections is not one of bandwidth but induced latency either through router packet throttling or PDV from other means. This affects all opponents in the game.
How prevalent this practice is now I can only guess.

@ G IH A IN ID II,
Have you ever considered QoS tagging your game data in CoD, similar to what we do in VoIP apps? Given that CoD traffic is essentially a realtime app setting a high(ish) priority QoS on CoD client communications might resolve some of the issues particularly with certain ISPs and certain residential routers. I think QoS tagging on game data might help eliminate some of the unintentional PDV experienced. Food for thought?
I can see where your going with this i think although i probably got entirely the wrong end of the stick, but you''ll run into two problems very quickly, the first is alot of residential routers dont have the capacity to set any sort of QoS anyways.and
secondly and more importantly the game uses an implicit connection (udp) to add any sort of tagging you'd need to add that to either the mac layer or the ip layer , with udp you only have 4 fields of 2 bytes each to work with in the header , and on top of that you'd then run into problems with the udp checksum.
VoIP apps benefit from not using udp, meaning you can add and control data alot more dynamically rather than udp which is basically the intewrwebz version of crossing your fingers and pressing send

I'd like to link this video coming from two of our forums members, Maccabi & CAPP00:
They explain ALOT about the new matchmaking system coming up & how it could improve the game for those in parties.
All I can say I thanks to both Mac & Capp for providing the video.
GHANDI by the way. If this matchmaking change improves the state of MW3's connectivity, please consider offering someone like Maccabi a job for IW in the networking department.

Thanks to to CAPP00 and maccabi for their video. We are making this change, which effectively reverts functionality to older MW style matchmaking, after a lot of debate internally. It's important to realize that this isn't a silver bullet to all synchronisation issues but it is true that the better the match made the better the experience should be for all because players should be more relatively in sync. However, this system relies upon some knowledge of how match making works in order to establish a regionally appropriate connection through manual intervention. There are many for whom this concept will not be common knowledge. We have the ability to revert the change instantly via backend settings if people are finding it an overall worse experience.
We shall message the change through appropriate official channels when it is released. I suggest then would be the time to reach out to trusted community "voices" to help propagate the news in one fell swoop.

Hey GHANDI,
LOTS of PC folks are wondering when they are getting Collection 1. Any updates/news on this topic?
A reply would help a lot! Thanks
The PC will receive a patch preparing for the arrival of DLC Collection 1 likely tonight at 2am PST. Collection 1 is well into its test cycle on PC. I'll see if I can get an accurate ETA for you.

I do agree that coverage is low but I'm glad it's getting some attention from GHANDI. i.e. Capp00's Lag Compensation Explained video.
Seeing ping levels in Mw3 and BO would be highly beneficial as it affects the game alot due to the lag comp changes, however i doubt we will ever see this introduced as it would probably result in players entering and exiting matches on a large scale.
IMO, I think the devs are afraid of showing someone's true ping in the match. It's a reason why they hide it with bars.
And it's not just COD. Same applies to other FPS these days on consoles.
The reason bars are used is because the mass market have no concept of ping. Bars are used since they are similar to mobile phone signal indicators and, therefore, understood by even the most casual consumer, or that's the theory.

What is the ping rate each bar represents?
E.g. -- 4 bars = <=50ms, 3 bars <=75ms, etc.
Just curious.

Thats BS. If you gave us ping numbers, we could easily show you how eff'ed up your matchmaking really is.What a joke!

How hard would it be to just add a menu option for numbers instead of bars? You are creating the bar based off a number value. It really shouldn't be that hard since you already have the data.
