WOW!!! Ive decided to put some time into this gun and it is amazing. The headshot multiplier is ridiculous though. I feel like Im cheating. Im just picking ppl off all over in a shot. Im fairly bad at headshots to. Its a good gun to use but I do not recomend hip fire with it. Which sux as Im a hip fire machine.
What are some of the forums fav setups with this gun? Im looking for some ideas. Though cant wait to thermal it.
There is no high headshot multiplier, just very high damage. It does 75 up close and 49 at a distance. Hitting the head gives a 40% increase in damage which equals up to 105, which gives it the 1HK headshot. The class I recommend is:
MK14 w/ Holographic Sight or ACOG Scope
Desert Eagle (It's more for being a badass than being actually useful, but in the right hands it is deadly)
Frags or Semtex
Flash or Stun
Blind Eye or Sleight of Hand
Assasin or Overkill (w/ Shotgun or SMG)
Marksman or Sitrep
I have 1000 headshots with it. I just play ground war. I run sleight of hand, overkill, Marksman and the scar or sniper as second weapon. Put thermal and extended mags on it
Im all set on perk layouts. Cause I dont do B/E assassin scrub sh!t.
I actually think Salvage is a decent good Perk with the MK14. You'd actually be surprised how quickly ammo can start running out with it, even if you're a good shot.
The Red Dot Sight is usually what I use with it. Doesn't really obstruct your view at all and with its accuracy, wherever you point the dot, it will pretty much hit.
ACOG would be if you're more of the longer range marksman type, but the increased sway and recoil hurts it a little. Though, the Hybrid Sights offer less sway and recoil, but really obstructs your peripheral vision with the scope.
A suppressor is nice either alone (iron sights aren't bad) or with a sight if you use Attachments.
Marksman being another good Perk to use with it, lol.
If you like to move around a bit, then Quickdraw is also nice to have. You could also replace Marksman with Stalker too if you want.
Rapid Fire isn't really necessary from my experience. Yes, using it removes the firing cap so it can fire as fast as you can tap the trigger, but that's not really how it's meant to be used from my experience. Only really useful for lucky-ass panic hipfiring, lol.
Silencer and Kick or Silencer and Rapid fire both work great. I love the iron sites on this gun so I don't use the RDS or Holo. Overall the Mk14 is my favorite weapon in this game. When you don't have to deal with lag it pwns all
I would also recommend using Scavenger. You'll find yourself on some pretty lengthy killstreaks and you'll run out of ammo in a hurry

Nah, gun takes way to much skill to even be lumped in with all these other guns that are called OP
it's not Op.....Close quarters is the worst and you have to be able to aim.
I thought all guns required aiming, I've achieved easy kills hipfiring with steady aim. Try specialist and you'll get a MOAB. Guaranteed.

Ohh heck no. The Q is ACR or AK47? But the type and MK14 are good guns.

TYPE95 >MK14
thats how i see it from spending my time on MW3
2 attachments profeciency Silencer and extended mags.
marksman is very useful.
Wipe out the entire team without reloading and they don't know what hit them.
ACR performs better than the AK47 in almost every scenario, while the Type 95 is simply a slower rate of fire but higher damage (for all three bullets) compared to the MK14. Plus the MK14 works really good at distance.
Yeah but sometimes it isnt about stats on a gun, its about the feel. I cant be touched with an AK.
Honestly:
AK-47 > ACR
M14 = Type95
I've use each extencively and I think you'll find these guns quite similar in stopping power but handling will be different.
MK14 Silencer (Impact)
MK14 Ext Mags+Silencer (Attachments)
MK14 Rapid Fire (Focus)
I've found those 3 to work pretty well
Scav/SoH
Quickdraw (HL if specialist)
Marksman/Stalker
Its all about the M4A1! Most underratted gun!
Hardly...see it used quite a bit alongside the ACR.
Love that gun, it's an absolute beast. One of the best and most consistent performers in the enitre CoD series
I don't know, but most headshots only take one shot in real life lol.
I run it with acog sight and rapid fire or silencer.
Perk Blind eye, Assasin, and Marksmen.

Not really, otherwise, you'd see A LOT more people using it.
It's ONLY a good gun to those who give it a chance and practice with it. This is why noobs/less experienced players/ignorant players/etc don't really use it much. It's not something they can pick up and instantly start spraying down with in a majority of situations unlike the full auto ARs. It's a type of weapon that actually has noticeable weaknesses that balances out that sheer power and accuracy (especially with the map design); it's horrible up close and can't hip-fire.for crap and, until you unlock and if you use Rapid Fire, it has a firing cap, so you can't spam fire it at first, unlike the Striker. (Even though the MK14 is not meant to be used like that really.)
The MK14 is a fun gun you don't see used very much - when I do I throw a silencer on everytime because it'll still be a 2 shot kill.

Its a good gun if you have a good connection because it can be a nightmare if you havent.

Rapid fire with focus is what I usually roll with. I have a fast trigger finger so I need rapid fire, if I don't have it, the guns jams for 1 bullet or so. By that time I will have died, or at least taken damage.
