Frag vs. Semtex... why go sticky when you can bankshot?

Just curious if people have a decided preference on frag vs semtex. I just find frags so much more versatile because you can bank/skip them into places... and you can also cook them for desired effect (airbursted frags is an artform). I just don't see much of an advantage on sticking semtex to something... other than sticking one to a juggernaut to take him down. What's your prefernce and why?
I normally use frags but i'm using stickys at the moment just to complete challanges and get the titles.
Semtex, I'm a self proclaimed beast with them things of late, only been using them last two prestiges after running betty's and have about 500 kills and a good few sticks, I always try to and stick people if I can see them but get a few lucky tosses as well now and again.
And you cant do this with a frag...
Leaderboard at the end of that makes an interesting read as well, two players with 40 kills each and only half my score.
Nice throw, but i can do that all day long with a frag.... in fact, I can (and have) bounced one down into that tunnel and get someone camped out in there from that same spot. I have some ridiculous frag throw kills... some 1/2 way across the map in smaller maps like Dome and Mission... I need to start putting some clips together. it's something that I'm actually pretty good at compared to many.
I was talking about holding the button down on the grenade for so long before releasing, do that with the frag and your a goner in about 3 seconds lol
You act like that's impressive. It's not. You're lucky your opponents were garbage or someone would have flanked and did you up real nice from behind for sitting there so long like a bozo.
5000 score and a good final kill, I'm happy with it, couldn't care less if you aren't.
Solid meh. Good job figuring out the throw, but waiting to toss a grenade near the area on drop zone is hardly something I'd call amazing.
way to go 28-26 craig, what a beast! haha, trash!
I like to use semtex so I don't have to cook them. I know how to cook frags, but I usually just like semtex because you can just throw it whenever you want and it will detonate in the same time. I do use frags a lot because it's much easier to complete the challenges lol. I get like 4-5 actual sticks versus like 30+ kills with semtex
I'm about the same as that esy, in Bops it was like 5 sticks to 50 kills because the blast was a lot more lethal but don't you notice in this the semtex has to be virtually on them just to get the kill if its not a stick?
Another thing, does the frag have the same useless blast radius as the sticky or is it a larger one?
I can usually get kills fine without sticking them. It might be because they're weakened after I shoot them or something.
Frag definitely has a larger blast radius.
Semtex<Frag<C4

Prefer stickies... quicker fuse, you can't blow yourself up by over cooking them, feel more accurate with tosses, and they feel more powerful...
... but they can stick to things you didn't mean for them to get stuck on
sorry but both frags and semtex are very weak in mw3, I prefer C4, it was well worth it's token. but as for frags vs semtex...... I got to semtex being able to stick one guy and watch him run into 2 other guys for a triple is one best things watch
I believe frag and semtex have the same damage and radius. I'm not very good with C4... I need to work on that. Some guys i see are really good at winging that package right at people.
once you get use to the double tap reload or if you're good enough to shoot it out if air. you'll very rarely frags or semtex. the blast radius and being able to trogger when you want to explode makes C4 the best lethal choice in my opinion
For me it's frags. I've always liked being able to do precision throws into tight areas, or around corners by bouncing them off door frames, or window edges without worrying about them getting stuck on anything. Plus I can accurately time the blast. Frags have a 5 second timer which you can count by the crosshairs flashing, and time the throws accordingly.
that's where I'm at too... too often I try to put a semtex into a tight spot and it gets stuck on a door frame or something... whereas I can get frags into some very tight spots... windows/doors/tunnels/behind tall walls, etc. Buildings make great backboards to bank shots off of.
On a side note though, I have had the occasions where a frag takes a nasty bounce and comes right back at me... haha. But still, for my playstyle a frags versatility works better for me.
Nothing more annoying than throwing a frag and it rolls out of the blast zone before going off, thus the guy survives. At least with semtex the device goes where I throw it. I don't need to bank grenades anyway, I have tubes for that.
I have been using only symtex as of late... and now that I'm thinking about it I may switch a few classes back to frags. I just like that I can toss a symtex without cooking it and know that it'll blow up faster. I tend to use them to flush people out more than for actual kills. I feel like these maps are so small if I sit and cook one for awhile someone will come up behind me for an easy kill.
The damage radius of a semtex is much larger then a frag. The end.
I can't confirm but i thought I saw something somewhere that claimed they were the same... I think the official MW3 guide you can buy (thick book...)? I could be wrong though.... my personal experience is that they seem to be about the same, but then again I'm pro Frag.
CoD wiki says they have the same blast radius and damage.
Frags are better than semetex.
I've always been a semtex player. The main things I like about them is precision and speed. You don't have to cook it and you can be so precise with them that they're always my choice. Always fun to find a little bushwookie proning somewhere and stick them in the back and watch them spin in circles trying to figure out what just happened.
Good question - frag more versatile. However, why go bankshot when could go KABOOM with C4.
Semtex, as I love sticking them to prone enemy's. I also find that I have more success with them than I do with frags.
Strange thing is, I always used frags in blackops, I had cooking them down to a fine art. Neither seem as damaging in MW3.
