I would like to see a buff for the SMAW

The only reason I would like to see a buff is for airsupport. I think the only thing you can take down with the SMAW is UAV and CUAV. You get a hitmarker with everything else. It wouldn't be so bad, but it's a one and done launcher so you effed in the 'A' if you don't have Blind-Eye.
The SMAW is the only defense against airsupport you have until level 20 (Blind-Eye). So what are you suppose to do until then, shoot it? It still takes a full clip with most weapons AFTER you fire your SMAW rocket
Definitely agree that the lockon aspect of the game should be buffed. Nothing else though.
You want a stinger? SMAW is fine for lower levels.
You don't unlock the Stinger until 40 something. You have nothing to protect you from airsupport until level 11 when you get Blind-Eye
It is fine for low levels...how many games does it take you to get to lvl 11? the smaw isn't your problem...its teamwork.
Before you can have teamwork you need a team, running solo that doesn't happen often. I don't see what the big deal is to buff the SMAW so you can take out an Attack Heli
I don't even care about taht aspect. I can't even lock on to the chopper. It beeps a few times then after I shoot it misses the chopper completely.
I've never had that problem. I just get hit markers
I've had my Stinger do this the last couple times, too.
Use a token.....that's what I did.
Have you ever tried using the SMAW? It doesn't track after locking on...
I can't believe the lack of anti air defense is used in a lot of games I play. Even if you dont get the stinger till 40, people should at least use the default class when they die from opposing air support. All it takes is a couple people to shoot it down, then change back to your class of preference after your next death.
I honestly think it's fine (outside of people who spam it like a primary). It's really just the trade-off of...
A.) Being the default Launcher.
B.) Being both free fire AND vehicle lock.
...if we raise the damage to OHKing Attack Helicopters (which is also the "limit" before flares start popping out of aerial killstreaks), all it'd need is 1 extra rocket before the Stinger would essentially be pointless outside of higher-end killstreaks as the SMAW would have similar power, but far greater versatility by being able to used like a one-shot RPG-7 as well.
Not to say I don't know the feeling as I've hitmarkered choppers with the SMAW and such before, but a few bullets more and it goes down quickly anyway given the SMAW depletes a majority of its health at least..
This is true, I just feel so vulnerable until I get Blind-Eye. I feel like I shouldn't be forced to use a perk or have to spend an entire clip just to take down the masses of airsupport that go up during a match
i think it needs a buff to it's useless unless your using it to kill people it's no stronger when using it with blind-eye pro and blind-eye pro is suppose to give more damage against air support.and while iw is fixing that they can buff the model 1887 to.
Blind-Eye Pro lets you lock onto targets faster, not give you extra damage
it does say you get extra damage on blind-eye pro against air support.
Not with rockets though, just bullet damage
sorry not on the game atm just looked though yes it is extra bullet damage against air support but it should be extra weapon damage against air support in this case.
well a higher rank shold try to shoot it down i always shoot enemy ks down, it boils down to team work.
They have a good reason for not giving everyone a stinger real early in the ranks. If they gave you a launcher such as the stinger as early as you have the SMAW, air support would get taken down even faster than it does now. You may not like it, but the launcher order is perfectly fine and no buff is ever going to happen to any launcher.
You also can use the Javelin at level 24, and it has no problem dealing with Attack Choppers in one shot. Other than that, use a prestige token to unlock the Stinger, then you will have access to it from level 4 on (create a class unlock), and your problem will be solved.
In addition, use the LMG. Outside of Advanced UAV's, it can cut all but the pavelow out the sky in around 1/ 2 a clip(L86)
Very good idea as well, LMGs are a great option as well.
SMAW is funny when you try to kill some enemies. Sometimes u shoot SMAW into enemys face and he still kills you ![]()
I really don't use it or rely on it. I used a prestige token to unlock the stinger and have never looked back. But I could see your point if that was a weapon you choose to run with.
I dont understand that in the menu.. the SMAW and Stringer missiles have same damage but SMAW cant take chopper down...sames goes for RPG
In-game stats (the colored bars that measure how high/low they are) lie. Fact.
I carry the SMAW on most of my classes. It's only one shot but I like the diversity it provides. And it's not hard to drop it after and pick something else up that's useful. But I think adding anything to this launcher would just over power it. Its good the way it is.
I used the token from my first prestige to unlock the Stinger, so I don't really remember the SMAW very well, other than that when I prestiged, the Stinger was enough of an improvement that it was worth a token.
But I've been having lots of fun taking down the air support now with an LMG. Most of my team mates are still unslinging their Stinger/SMAW by the time I've taken it down with bullets and Blind Eye. I save the Stinger for the UAVs.
I have stringer unlocked as well.. but that is only set to use on a stealth class..
On other classes I either use , SMAW or RPGs... These are good to shoot enemy at distance or behind corners and campers (also nice to hear enemy raging after getting killed from these.)
USE A PRESTIGE TOKEN TO UNLOCK THE STINGER.I DID IT FOR THAT REASON.
