Yeah, I installed it about a week and a half ago or so, but never got around to it. Also been reading up on all the beginner's stuff and tips on the forum. Saw it on during commercials on Greatest Tank Battles (love that show ) and thought it looked pretty slick.

Not to mention the various replay abilities given all the various weapons and attachments that can be picked up throughout the Campaign, so it can be fun to try out different things.

I especially loved the last level of MW3. After all, what can be more fun than dragging ass in Juggernaut armor with a PKP Pecheneg with all the Perks and such, mowing down countless grunts? Takes a freaking helicopter crashing into you just to get rid of Juggernaut armor, lol.

I can agree with that, I found Battlefield 3's campaign really boring.

Re: Does CoD really need a campaign?

I think this is a very interesting question with two important subquestions:

    - How much would sales drop if they left out a campaign?

    - What's the cost of creating the campaign (voice actors, script writers, etc) compared to making the multiplayer part of the game?

On these two hang the whole question.  Perhaps the total cost of creating the game is split 10% campaign, 90% everything else.  In that case I would put money down that having a campaign is a net positive for them.  Even though the internet is full of multiplayer stuff I imagine half or so of the people who buy the game hardly play multiplayer at all, but give the campaign a full runthrough, perhaps a little bit of other stuff (zombies, spec ops).

But the cost may be more like 30% or more campaign and less than 70% multiplayer, in which case they may have to seriously consider every year whether to make one.

Re: Does CoD really need a campaign?

The campaign establishes alot of the maps for the MP, if you think about it.  If they got rid of the campaign they would end up something like what BF2 did which was having the single player being a bootcamp for the MP, but with bots instead of real players.  If you have played BF2 you know what I am talking about but for those who don't the developers simply shortened the maps so that you could get the feel for the game using the vehicles, but at the same they made it small enough so that you could make contact with the opposition instead of running around the whole time.

Re: Does CoD really need a campaign?

the campaign, imo, is an integral part of any game. I play it before playing multiplayer to learn about the weapons. Others just love playing campaign and don't even touch multiplayer. Without campaign it kinda gets boring. Ever played MAG? that game only had the multiplayer aspect and it fizzled away pretty quick. Just my opinion though.
