Would the PM-9 benefit from a recoil buff?

I have been using the pm-9 and mp9 for a week,i have realised that the mp9 outclasses pm-9 in range and rate of fire(including rapid) which makes it the better choice,IMHO.

The pm-9 works fine for a really close encounter but other than that its useless at medium to long range,even with the stability proficiency the recoil is over the top and whats the point of the handgrip if it isnt going to be used?

I just think the recoil needs a buff as at the moment it feels like a machine pistol and not an smg:)

You do know that buffing recoil is adding more recoil and the gun is fine the way it is if you learn how to use it.

  I meant buff it to make it have less recoil,as less recoil is better than more recoil,hence the word buff.

  With the incredible firing rate SMGs have they should all carry high recoil. Some ARs could us a bit more too. This game has catered itself to those who suck dearly at FPS making it damn near impossible to beat someone with skill.

mp9 is just beast and has high damage mods = better than most primaries anyway

Buff=increase.
Nerf=decrease

That gun is made for Cqc and it excels at it you do not need to make it a range weapon. If you don't like it because of that then don't use it.

  Look,im just simply saying that the gun needs LESS recoil,that is all,it just seems like my screen shakes about too much like im having a fit or something everytime i pull the trigger.
  Im fine with the weapon the way it is,but i think they should turn the recoil down a notch,that is it,that is all,cheerio.

They should nerf the recoil on the PM-9 to make up for the fact that the Range proficiency doesn't work on it. Strange how every other submachine gun benefits from range except the PM-9.

The PM-9 is a one-handed gun correct? This would explain why its recoil is significantly greater than others. Then again, I have never used it and have never felt the need to, the PP90M1 does good enough for me.

Ya the pm-9 needs either more beneficial recoil or a range buff, because it is clearly outclassed by every other smg. I got it to gold like a week ago and it is significantly less effective than the mediocre smgs like the ump or pp90.

The PM-9 has probably the shortest barrel of all the SMG's, so it makes sense that it's not very accurate for anything beyond close quarters. Sometimes I'll have success burst firing from the hip at range, but I'll usually try to close the gap before engaging.

I have well over 2500 kills with the PM-9, and I don't agree that it needs a buff. It has crazy ROF, and you don't need to ADS. It's a trade off, and unfortunately you sacrifice long range accuracy as it should be. It is what it is...

Screw range on that beast, ut on rapid fire with ext mags, stay in close quarters and mow people down. The PM-9 has more damge on it than any SMG besides the UMP and maybe the P90 and it has the highest rate of fire. Its beastly when you rank it up and use it right. Honestly i dont think any gun can compete with it in close quarters not even the striker.

Run Steady Aim and never ADS. RF and ext mags as mentioned above are the way to go. Plan your routes and stay away from medium/long range encounters - it takes too many bullets to kill, even w/ RF. This gun is very fun and effective in close quarters.

  Never ADS? If I wanted to use a short range gun that didn't benefit from ADS, i'd just use a shotgun. A submachine gun should be moderately reliable while ADS.

    Try it - the weapon is designed for hip fire and extremely reliable with Steady Aim. It jumps way too much when ADS.

    This guys giving you solid advise on how to use this gun. I would say it is "moderately reliable" while ADS, it's just not the best way to use it. I've gotten plenty of longshot kills ADS with the PM-9, it's just not it's strength. You're better off using it as cantcme described. Everyone who has learned he gun knows this...

      I'm better with it ADS because i'm just used to doing it throughout my CoD career. I molest with it at very close range, but it fails medium range. If I wanted a submachine gun to hipfire across the map, i'd use the PP90 with Rapid Fire+Extended Mags, the best hipfiring non-shotgun in the game.

        It sounds like the PM-9 isn't for you then. If you don't play to it's strengths, then you won't be happy with the results. Have fun with your run of the mill SMG's...

        Run of the mill? All i've been seeing in Dom lately are people spraying with PM-9s. It's rare to see someone actually using a P90 or PP90, as opposed to the MP7 and UMP.

        Interesting I dont play Dom, my son plays KC, TDM, Sabatoge and I never see PM-9's on there or SnD. Some people like certain guns some dont. You tried the PM-9 with rapid fire + ext mags Aero?
        
        Believe or not I really dont like the MP7. That gun to me is like the PM-9 to most people.

        I didn't use it long enough to get Extended Mags, but Rapid Fire works well with it close range.

        Ext mags is a must in my book. It burns through that small clip so quick without it. You can easily put a whole clip into a dude and not even realize it. You can miss the dude and have to reload and get killed. And if you run into more than 1 person close quarters its by far the best gun to mow them down. It even helps with your midrange encounters too because you can spray the sht out of it while straffing and get the kill.

        If you're not spraying with the PM-9, you're not using it right. That's exactly what you need to do in order to be succesful. It's not a precision gun. Keep your crosshairs head-high, and you'll rack up the headshots.

As soon as I prestige again im ranking it up first thing, I would do it now but im like level 70 some and theres no way im goin through all that trouble just to lose it.

Buff = improve = less recoil
Nerf = make worse = more recoil

Which means the OP is correct in his terms and yeah I agree, so much wrong with that little gun and needs improvement.

I can see why everyone thinks the PM-9 is so bad, especially if they havnt ranked it u to ext mags. Until you get ext mags on and can spray it with rapid + ext mags, you havnt experienced the true awesomeness of this gun.

  Really late on this conversation but I disagree. I've been using the uzi since COD4 so I've been using it as my main weapon continuously and this is almost the worse I've seen it. Black Ops being the worse. MW2 had it right. The guy who opened this thread is right. The recoil is fine, I'm used to it but the recoil recover, that is, moving back to the position it was after firing doesn't correct itself completely. Even if you tap the shots it doesn't settle back into the same position you first shot. MW2 i could shoot people across the map by tapping it. Now I get taken out by mp9 from across the maps.
