This is one of the guns I just haven't used yet.  I think I do not even have a kill with it yet.  Will have to try this setup.  Will make some adjustments to fit my game style.  I watched the Dragunov video the other night and I put on a silencer and an extended mag and used specialist. I have been doing good with it and got it to level 30.  Best maps for my setup are dome, interchange, village, and arkaden.  Main perks for the dragunov are sleight of hand, hardline, and marksman then get quickdraw, scavenger, and blind eye.

I have been loving the LMGs since the patch last weekend.

When a thread can be applicable to more than one platform, place one thread in a proper general sub-forum. This forum or MW3 Multiplayer would be good options.

Although the video was well made and had some good information I would have to disagree with the suggestions for the PKP. This gun is my favorite in the LMG category and Ive aquired well over 1000 kills with it pre-buff and I seriously didnt even use it too long.

My preferred setup for the PKP is SoH, Quickdraw, Marksman. This cuts reload time almost in half plus the pro version makes switching to secondary a life saver. Quickdraw is optimal due to the fact that LMGs have slow ADS and Marksman is a given.

The best proficiency is Attachments because the Grip attachment is more affective than the Kick proficiency and with the Attachments proficiency the Grip can be added with a silencer if you want stealth, a red dot if you want precision or my favorite.. Rapid Fire! because I want a gun that can mow people down at all ranges.

I would not suggest using killstreaks for any LMG. Specialist package is best. Set up the perks to unlock at Assassin, Blind Eye, Steady Aim. The PKP (or any LMG for that matter) is a complete BEAST when you get an 8 killstreak goin with the Specialist package.

My setup worked extremely well on TDM, DOM and KC.

    Re: Weapon Optimization: PKP Pecheneg

I have 2 set-ups that I really like on this class, both offer something a bit different in terms of how you'll play:

Primary - PKP W/Dual Attachments + Grip & Extended Magazine

    Secondary - SMAW Launcher

    Lethal Equipment - Throwing Knife

Non-Lethal - Scrambler (though I'm considering changing it for this class)

    Sleight of Hand Pro

    Assassin Pro

    Marksman Pro

Basically, this first class is designed for trying to push through enemies and clear a path to an objective. If you ever find yourself spawn locked/trapped, this class with it's constant firepower + a rocket, you can break through them occasionally and push forward.

This next class is designed more around suppression and tries to take maximum advantage of the LMG. It's probably my favorite set-up, especially with the buff that they recently got:

    Primary - PKP W/Kick + Suppressor

    Secondary - USP. 45 W/Suppressor

    Lethal - Claymore

    Non-Lethal - Scrambler

    Sleight of Hand Pro

    Assassin Pro

    Marksman Pro

Specialist Package - Blast Shield Pro / Stalker Pro / Quickdraw Pro (though I'm considering swapping QDP for something else)

This class is designed around holding down an area and suppressing the enemy. Large Magazine + silenced fire means after you kill someone, their teammates aren't going to have a fix on your position, giving you that extra edge. The Scrambler works as Blind Eye for when the enemy gets up Air Support, which means Predators, Attack Helicopters, Pavelows, things like that won't be finding you.

The Claymore helps you to watch your flank incase someone breaks out and decides they're going to try to kill you. The specialist package (starting with BSP) allows you to utilize as much power as you can. Since you're trying to suppress the enemy, it's not uncommon to hit your specialist bonus. I hit it twice in Dome in one match. You just have to use it correctly.

Scavenger Pro isn't necessary until you get your Specialist Bonus. I've never ran out of ammo using this set-up until I've hit my specialist bonus, and even then I have enough to get by until I collect a scavenger pack.

        Re: Weapon Optimization: PKP Pecheneg

Honestly, I tend to forgo Blast Shield simply because I don't think it's effective enough to warrant using. With Assassin, I can get into position without being bothered, and if I'm trying to push through a trap, not showing on the mini-map that I'm headed towards them can give me that ever so slight advantage and catch them off guard more so than them me. Additionally, once I break free, I can roam around the map without showing up, and that too is a big help. I've considered for my Non-Lethal giving myself a Tac Insert in order to keep a spawn outside of the normal areas.

If Blast Shield was buffed more, I'd use it for sure. But on it's current level, I just don't see it worth exposing myself on the UAV/Motion Sensors. If I can get that extra level of stealth and take the enemy by surprise (even just for a brief moment), it's typically enough to get through a spawn trap.

The reason I use it on my Specialist class though, is that after a couple kills, grenades do typically start coming my way, and even though BS isn't the most effective perk, the bit of extra resistance does come in handy sometimes.

       Love the pkp .........

       Blind eye/assasin/steady aim

attachments/silencer and your choice of grip or rds.

With a setup like this you can get right in the action , drop people like flies and have a nice killstreak before anyone even knows where you are.

I'll use it on ffa dome ........ just lay down almost anywhere on the map and start mowing people down.

PKP isn't bad. I've been using it a bit post patch and it's decent. I am using Blind Eye, Quickdraw and Stalker. Once I get Blind Eye pro,  I might ditch my stinger and just go for a secondary weapon because I can just shoot stuff down! BLind Eye Pro with an LMG is nasty!
