Ever since being a youngster I have written a lot, as in a lot of useless kill streaks in this game or as in a lot of people here use alot, to me that isn't even a word and its annoying reading it all the time, don't know if its an American variation of our British word because I see it all the time on this forum, the Xbox section since that's what I read so can anyone confirm if its even a word over there or if a lot of people just cant spell it right?
i use alot because its quicker to type... this is the internet i dont understand how someones spelling/grammar can bother, quite retarded if you ask me.
spelling an grammar dont mean **** on the internet.
I find reading replies like that retarded, I don't call people out on it though and neither do most but I still find it really poor.

So... you choose to flaunt laziness and insipidness in one stroke.
Well done.
If you want me to take you seriously, you should at least go through the effort to make it at least resemble English. A complete lack of grammar or spelling just makes you look dumb, and will encourage people to treat you that way.

Thats just it why would anyone care if some random guy takes them serious or not ? like i said this is the internet it has no impact on my personal life so why type correct grammar... typing correct and perfect is an should always be a choice, i personally think people should type the way they want.
I type the way i like not the way i learned in school because i feel more comfortable... its not a term paper so i dont need any type of pressure to type everything correct.
also in real life beyond this electronic world im a laid back type of guy that doesn't take anything serious... just so you know.
Grammar mistakes happen "alot", although it should be "a lot". You also see, "aswell" rather than "as well" . If I were typing an important document it may be of concern but this is a forum not an English class. As long as I can understand the point they're making that's all that matters.
Spelling should matter MORE on the internet, particularly on a message board, since (not "sence", that's another one that drives me nuts) it's all about reading and writing your opinions. Typos are one thing, I get it, sometimes you make a mistake, we all do. There's a difference between a typo and not knowing the correct word. You don't save any significant time by typing "alot" instead of "a lot". It's hard to really take anyone seriously that has a poor grasp of the English language. It makes you come across as uneducated. I might understand if you're typing on an old-school nokia cell phone, using the number pad, but with modern phones you get a real keyboard, use it. Stop using "it's a forum" as an excuse for bad language skills. If you don't spend the time to keep your typing skills up to par you're going to develop bad habits in your professional life. There's even a spell check in the response tool. Use it.
Spelling mistakes show how ignorant the misspeller is.

Not true. People also multitask when on the forum and dont want to waste valuable work time to correct errors. People misspell to get their thoughts straight in this forum . Editing them take time and people lose track. We dont get paid to do this and the moderators dont give us temp bans on spelling errors.
Now for example your word misspeller shows that you must be ignorant. Its not even a word, such as alot is not a word.
Just kidding.
Words like youre or dont is still not considered improper when chatting, whatever. But when you start using words that no where near exist then that show lack of intelligence.
Such as a person who loses a game is not called a "looser" because they arent unstitch themselves. That one is pretty bad to use repeatedly. Especially when someone says "these unintelligent people are all a bunch of loosers. Get an education."
On a side note some of my friends still think that people think "looser" is supposedly proper to people who misspell in that sentence because some time about 4 years ago every one got the same spelling book in school and no one ever said anything . ![]()
Like the one text book that says Herbie Hancock signed the Declaration of Independence.
Is this really newsworthy?

"You cannot write a lot with one word."
A phrase I learned a long time ago to remmber how to spell both "cannot" and "a lot" correctly.
You know what they say, proper grammar is the difference between knowing your sh*t, and knowing you're sh*t. ;]

dude get over yourself so people dont spell things correctly to YOU.. my grammar is sh it cant spell for **** n i dont care.
Sorry kiddo but if adult chat is too much for yourself to grasp then don't bother replying, this isn't about people not spelling things correctly as that happens all the time and mistakes are obviously made, this about people not knowing how to spell something, also, your patter is like toothpaste, it comes out a tube...
He is right though. Who are you to tell people that they have to spell things the same way you do?

Well... it's called language.
Not once did I tell people to spell the same way as me but it would be nice if people used proper wording, it does annoy some people who actually take the time to be understandable.
That's funny in my english class at school there's a poster that says a lot of people think alot is a word well a lot of people are wrong.
