Unique award for going above and beyond

I was wondering to myself, and then after discussing it with friends, I think that if I can acheive a few stellar feats with my AA-12, I may get a unique award, like a dummy drum mag or "pack a punch" (silver) weapon skin for my devoted efforts. Now hear me out, you see, I already have around 38'000 kills with the AA-12, I have a 2.51 k/d with it and I've gotten 25 moabs while using it.
I'm also ranked 72nd in the world on Xbox in the "Buckshot" Accolade, and 30th (on Xbox) in the world in the "Boomstick" Accolade, as of today March 14, 2012. In my opinion, I'm already a cut above most players, especially others shotgunners, but I know I can do better. I feel that if I could accomplish the challenges below, I might get endowed with something like I mentioned above, in recognition of the fulfillment of these feats. I'm not asking for much, nothing big or anything that IW couldn't provide, I just want to have some sort of distinction about me that people could see, so they know what I've accomplished. I personally believe that my performance already should merit an award, but I'm willing to go above and beyond what I have so far to prove that I'm worth my salt, that I deserve my decoration.
May I present the challenges I intend to reach with the AA-12:
- Challenge #1: The Trial of Bravery: In this challenge, I must get a Moab with a naked AA-12, no Strike Package, no Attachments, no Profficiencies. This setup will be completely bare boned and will push my skills to their limits. My success in this trial won't hinge so much on the use of Damage, Specialist or Extended Mags, it will be all about me and my ability to close the distance between my enemies effectively killing them quickly and effeciently.
- Challenge #2: The Trial of Excess: This one will be equally as daring, for in the Trial of Excellence, my mission will be to get a triple Moab with the AA-12. Due to the fact that I will be using the AA-12, and regardless of the gamemode I play, a triple Moab isn't easy, I will be allowed to use attachments, profficiencies and the Specialist Strike Package.
- Challenge #3: The Trial of Stealth: This feat will require me to get a Moab using the AA-12 with a suppressor equiped, which dramatically changes the performance of the AA-12. I will use Specialist, but I won't use any profficiencies. This challenge will put great amounts of stress on my ability to stay hidden and out of sight, long enough to go in for the kill, and then make a dash for cover. Hit 'n' Run tactics will be my key to success here, as I must maintain a low profile and pick my fights wisely. I must not get greedy or impatient, it won't be the fastest Moab in the world, but I can do it I'm sure.
So, I think if I can complete the Trials listed, in addition to having 50'000 kills and 50 Moab's (with AA-12) I should be honored with what I've requested or something akin to such, which again, isn't much. I'll go to IW later with this inevitably but I just want your guys input on the subject, should IW hand out rewards for doing something sub lime?
Thank you for reading, any constuctive criticism or advice is welcomed.
I guess all I need now is a time frame
Dear oh deary you have more time on your hands than God himself... Nevertheless, I can only admire your efforts with the AA-12 as they far outweigh any of mine. The best thing I have done with that weapon is a 17 killstreak while it was suppressed.
Thanks for the compliment, but do you think this is a fair arrangment? Should IW start doing things like this to help break up the monotony of prestiging?
Bungie did something similar for Halo 3 as I'm sure most know about. Anyone remember Recon? It was pretty much a gift, prize or award for excellency and stellar achievement in the game, Digital Pheer got one for doing the "Arby 'n' the Chief" series.
What I'm asking for isn't quite as big as Recon was in Halo 3, I just think players should be rewarded for going above and beyond, this is America after all, not Cuba.
They should definately implement bigger and better awards for people who put LOTS of time into a weapon. Gold camo isnt exactly that special, and the 1000 headshot title is just, well, a title.
Thank you WB, I agree with you entirely! There's know way to separate me, the guy who's got almost 40'000 kills with the AA-12, to some guy who got the gold camo and titles for hell of it. On the surface, no one is going to assume that I'm any better than the next guy with my title and emblem.
wont happen because the masses will complain. The only thing I can seem them doing is maybe make some harder ones and just give ya another digital trophy for it.
Yeah thats the first thing that rolled through my head, once I got what I EARNED you would have 100's, maybe 1000's to 100'000s whining that they should have it too, just like in Halo 3 with "recon" armor.
I was still curious, so I thought I might ask the community their opinion, but I'm still running this by IW themselves, because you can't miss if you don't shoot, and I feel that I can do these challenges, and if I can back it up with proof, I think an award will be in order if IW agrees to it.
Im having a hard time believing any of that lol. are you gonna post videos of these feats?
I would have to wouldnt I? Otherwise know one will take my word for it. I don't know how to make videos but I know a friend who does. I'm thinking there's 2 ways to do this, record it real time with his pvr and just hope I get this when we hit "action" so to speak, or play until I get it, send my account to my buddy and he just plays back the videos while recording with his pvr.
I don't make montages, commentaries or vidoesand thats how I see it working, maybe I'm wrong, maybe there's a simpler way to do it.
I think one of the reasons this game gets boring so quick for people who are superb at it is because they have nothing to work towards, no reason to be ambitious. Thats one reason why me and my brothers don't care much for prestiging, it doesn't prove anything. If you play long enough, you'll get to the prestige level you desire. It does a horrible job at separating the "sharks from the guppies".
That is one thing this thread tries to do, its trying to get the developers to reward excellence. Its not just about me or my AA-12, but about trying to create a change that will hopefully make this series a little more worthwhile. It doesn't even have to be about "doing this good", "getting a moab with x weapon using x tactics/killstreaks".
Take my Digital Pheer example, he wasn't extraordinary at Halo 3, but he impressed Bungie with his video series, it made them laugh, they sought him out and presented him with Recon for being such a sensation.
I think all developers should reward people who do anything related to the game thats remarkable or unprecedented. It would give both those who are already at the top, and those trying their hand at this game for the first time to be phenomenal and deviant.
Maybe I have it all wrong, but thats just my opinion, and one of many ways to percieve this thread, to look at the bigger picture here.
The reason I go back to Halo Reach every now and then is simply because just want to unlock that next piece of armor. There is nothing like that in cod.
Though I commend you on your feats so far with the AA-12, IW will never recognise those who do well with underused weapons in the game.
(They will still reward those who die often with deathstreaks) ![]()
As a fellow shotgun user, I commend for being different compared to those who are experienced at the game but still tend to stick with the "easy-mode" weapons.
Wear the AA-12 titles proud
Hey 9blackguys, you would have the 1000 headshots title for the AA12 by now wouldn't you? It took me around 11000 model 1887 kills to acheive the 1000 headshot title.
@Weaponbalance: Yeah I have it, and it actually it took me about the same amount of kills to unlock it as you and your model. I always said its about a 10-1 kill to headshot ratio, so it does take while.
@Vims: lol yeah it does seem like that! I may be fighting an uphill battle, but "quit" has never been in my vocabulary, I'll keep this thread and this cause alive untill... Well until they acknowledge my request, whether or not they comply is another question though.
And thank you very much for your admiration, as always. I'm still gonna attempt these challenges as a test of my own skills and abilities, but if I ever did in a million years get something out of it from the developers, that would be priceless.
How do you find your accolade rank?
Go to "barracks", go to "accolades" and you can press "A" on each of the emblems to view a leaderboard of how many you have compared to everyone else. Your rank in the world is automatically shown in the far left. Just like with kills, wins and score, you press can "Y" to change the filter from Friends to Everyone.
Ah ok I didn't even know you could do that. The best thing I have is 14k something for most C4 kills lol.
Haha! Thats cool man, and don't worry too much about the accolades if you aren't as "high up" on them as you'd like or previously thought. The guy who's number one in shotgun headshots has about 35 days played.
