2-3 second blackouts

Hello!
I have for some time experienced blackouts, when playing Modern Warfare 3. They happen for 2-3 seconds at a time at random intervals.
What exactly happens when I say blackout is the screen going black and then going back to normal as if nothing had happened. Whenever this happens it sound like a fan in the computer is increasing its RPM and I'm pretty sure it's the graphic card's.
I'm running a Windows 7, 64-bit system with the following specifications:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K (not overclocked)
- RAM: Corsair 16 GB DDR3 1600 MHz
- SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 128 GB
- GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX570 1280 MB GDDR5 RAM
I'm running the newest drivers for my graphic card and all updates for Windows are installed.
I really hope someone has some clue as to why this is happening and possibly a fix. It is getting pretty annoying.
Regards,
Michael Storgaard

Hello Storgaard,
Perhaps you might want to try some of the tips in this similar issue in the link below. (Sorry for the length, the site won't allow me to paste abbreviated links.)
I appreciate your answer, but the things mentioned on that page isn't sacrifices, I'm willing to make to avoid these blackouts. What they are saying on that page is to use a resolution on 1024x768 (compared to my current of 1920x1080) and close all other programs to free up memory (I currently have 14+ GB RAM available). I also need to run programs like Mumble while in-game, so that won't work for me.
I have no problem running other games in max quality in the highest resolution and I specifically choose to buy an expensive graphics card and lots of RAM, so I didn't have to compromise.
But thank you for your answer.
