What do you rank the shotguns?

Out of all the shotguns present in MW3, what do you rank the shotguns (after the shotgun patch)?

 

1) Striker

2) USAS-12

3) KSG-1

4) Spas-12

5) Model 1887

6) AA-12

 

I would still consider the Striker the most consistent shotgun over the others after the shotgun patch. Not because I think it's "OP" but it's definitely more consistent compared to the rest. (even with it's nerf)

    I would say that the spas is better than the ksg, and maybe the usas, but i like the spas,.

      Both the Spas-12 & KSG-1 were tough in deciding which one to me was better.

       

      So far, I've unlocked both the Spas-12 & KSG-1 with damage which both have been so inconsistent at times BUT at times pretty decent. (could be due to connection though)

       

      USAS-12...love the shotgun. I've only used it for an hour and managed 90 kills & already at Level 10. Even with a Grip & Focus, one shot kills are pretty reliable at blank range with a few longshots. Don't like the reload time on it so I use SOH rather than Extreme Conditioning.

       

      I'm not looking forward to ranking up the Model 1887 & AA-12 though.

    I would agree that you have the list pretty bang on there.

    The only comment I have about the Striker is that it has a very high fire rate cap for a semi-automatic shotgun. I mean comparing it to the one from MW2 it has been buffed quite a lot.

    SPAS is too unreliable, so KSG does the job for me so I will rank them accordingly:

     

    1:Striker

     

    2:USAS

     

    3:KSG

     

    4:SPAS

     

    5:Model

     

    6:AA-12

    Your rank is pretty accurate. All of the shotguns other than the Striker and Usas suck though (I have 1000+ kills with every shotgun other than the ksg so I know what I'm talking about). And it's just not lag, the pump actions are weaker in this game than in any other cod title, other than the trenchgun, which is equal in power to the spas and model. The ksg is the best pump action though because it takes 3 hits to kill up close with damage, like the model and spas, however it shoots 9 pellets rather than 8.

    My rankings are very similar to yours, BUT I find that the USAS-12 higher pellet per shot and longer range makes it more powerful, despite it's smaller magazine size.



    The others are the same as they've been for me since the game first came out, but I am so disappointed with the Spas and the AA-12... I loved both guns on MW2, but on here it's as though they shoot spitwad buckshot after 5ft. Glad the USAS and KSG can compete with SMG's better now. I wish they'd do one more slight buff the to ksg,spas, and model though.... I've given up hope for the AA-12

    Just going off damage and range and not rate of fire mine would be:

    1. Model

    2. KSG

    3. SPAS

    4. USAS

    5. Striker

    6. AA

    I would place the Model higher than the Spas imo.

      Never liked the Model 1887 myself. I find it more inconsistent at close range compared to the Spas-12.

        I play HardCore almost exclusively, and something about scoring kills using the Model 1887 with the Range Proficiency just makes me all giddy.

        I got my 1887 at level 30 in a few days... but the road from 30 to Gold 31 is so long.

         

        I had never really been much of a shotgun user before. I got inspired watching a friend/teammate just wreckin' kids night after night on his way to getting his 1887 gold.

         

        When I forced myself to play with nothing but the 1887, it was interesting watching what it did to my play-style: it helped me improve my ability to avoid long-range engagements & flank/rush in for the close-quarters kills.

         

        Having that SMAW or RPG on my back came in handy for dislodging dug-in snipers who were locking down long sight-lines.

         

        But even in HardCore, the 1887 was somewhat inconsistent for me: there were times when I scored one-shot kills with it at ridiculously long ranges, but other times I'd get (s)hit-markers at point-blank range.

      i tend to run and  gun a little and found the aa12 suits me better - just have to hold the trigger down and away you go, its beastly at really close quarters with damage, looks great in gold  but a pea shooter at range - keep up close and personal and its a hoot  - but need sleight of hand and scavenger so have to run with specialist- cant seem to fire the striker as fast as opponents semm to manage so dont do as well with it , usas is decent all round but not as much fun as aa12. cannot get used to pumps and just get slaughtered - the road to damge on ksg was long and painful - couldn't face taking it to gold - gave up with both model and spas very quickly as found them no better

    In effectiveness for a skilled shotgunner they rank
