I'm just wondering if you guys like it or not and if so what setups do you use?
Here's my set up
Mp7 gold, attachments, Extended mags with silencer (or rapid fire depends on what i feel like)
Model 1887 gold, damage.
C4
Emp nade
perk teir 1= slight of hand
perk tier 2= Over kill
perk tier 3= steady aim
when using support it's AUAV, stealth and emp.
when using specialist it's 2 kills blind eye pro, 4 kills blast shied pro, 6 kills hardline pro.
I only really use it in barebones or hardcore until the uav spam starts then back to my assasin classes for hardcore.
MG36 with red dot and grip then an L118A for those campers i cant get close to or for defend a two flaggs .
-----
G36C kick and red dot , KSG 12 with kick.
i dont really see the point as akimbo MP's are as good as any gun you would need for close range
Only time I might use it is during SND if there isn't a lot of air support, AND I'm on offense.
If on defense, it's Assassin all the way.
Yeah, for me there's way too much UAVs, so I need Assassin. Otherwise it might be my favorite perk.
Akimbo machine pistols pretty much make overkill useless. Why use a shotgun when akimboed fmg9s beat them in CQC over half the time?
If I did I'd probably use an assault rifle and shotgun/smg. Long and close range dominance.
What I don't understand is why people use overkill in drop zone. Absolutely no sense. Also been seeing quickdraw with shotguns lately...absolutely no sense.
quck draw lets them toss nades and get back to the shotgun faster when its pro. So it has a purpose in DZ. you spam your tac and leathal nade then get back to your striker and spray down those that were flashed and hurt.
overkill in DZ is fun, run aa-12 and striker and make people doubly rage over it. Non stop shotgun action and if both have range or damage, who cares about the toy fmg's you can sitll **** them.
Don't use Overkill as much as I thought I would.
In the lobbies I have been apart of, I think Assassin, Hardline & Quickdraw (for snipers) dominate the Tier 2 perk slots.
As Esy stated above, there's really no need to use to sacrifice a perk like Assassin or Hardline for a perk that gives you 2 primary weapons considering machine pistols are strong enough to hold on it's own as secondaries.
If say there weren't any secondary machine pistols in MW3, Overkill IMO would have been a popular perk. Also, if Quickdraw didn't affect ADS speed for snipers, Overkill would have been popular for close range engagements.
In the times I've used it, a MK14 and secondary shotgun.
While I do agree that MP's make overkill almost useless I don't like them that much.
The Mp9 fires to slow for me or it just doesn't kills before the enemy kills me when I clearly got him by surprise. The fmg9's is only useful akimbo and I already have a shot gun to hip fire with. The other two MP's same as fmg's.
Because I rarely feel the need for the other 2ed tier perks I use overkill so I have have my favorite shotgun and a all around smg so I can run 100% still with decent range in the same class.
The Uav spam doesn't bother me just means more people are going to come for me meaning more kills. Hard line. I use support mostly and I normally get 2 emp's with this class almost every game I play in. Blast shield. Well I don't expect to live long with this class maybe 4-7 kills per life long as no bs happens.
QuickDraw is out cause I already have fast aim with these guns and a emp nade solves my slow throw problem. So I guess that's why I just like using overkill cause non of the other 2ed tier goes into my play style unless I'm quickscoping on a sniper class.
I feel Overkill is a pointless perk for two reasons; 1. Machine Pistols. 2. You can always pick up a second primary if you really need it.
isnt 6 kills hard line pro completly useless
The pro version yes the normal version? No i rather get one more kill to have all perks and profienciy than two more kills. and i don't expect my enemy's to live after being shot with a damage model so i shouldn't be getting that many assist, but the lag in this game is making it possible for them to live -.-
I ran Overkill for a while during my previous prestige. I too was using the MP7 and the Model1887. I also liked the AS50/Striker combo. Overkill is best paired with Sleight of Hand Pro.
When I finish prestiging i'm going to make some awesom overkill classes, overkill rocks. I think that is something Blops 2 should incorporate as well. Blops 1 had terrible secondaries, if blops 2 is the same I hope they have overkill.
Whenever I used Overkill its either with the ACR and Model 1887 or the RSASS and MP7. I like using the perk, but due to the enemy team I am facing having a constant UAV, I usually have to run specialist to get Assassin to make using that class worth it.
Not a big fan, I don't think it's worth a whole slot over Assasin, Quickdraw, or Hardline so I don't really ever use it...
I used to use it with a Riot Shield + AR or SMG, but I think a PM-9 + Riot Shield is good enough to get you by before you can pick up something better from a corpse...
I use it sometimes. Mainly in HC S&D, and I can honestly say none of my HC S&D classes have blind eye or assassin anyways, but for the times I do feel like having 2 primaries I use this class...
First primary: ACR - Attachment proficiency - Silencer - Extended mags
Second primary: L118 - Kick - Silencer
Lethal: Claymore
Tactical: Trophy system
Perk 1: Sleight of Hand Pro
Perk 2: Overkill pro
Perk 3: Dead Silence Pro
Killstreaks: UAV - Care Package - Pred Missle
Death Streak: Hollow Points (The least noob deathstreak, especially since I only play hardcore)
Overkill is practically made for specialist package...
My typical overkill class is mp7 w/ ext mags and silencer and a usas with damage or a lag with damage.
When the specialist bonus kicks in you get all the perks plus a ton of bonus proficiencies (not damage) on any primary you carry. If you can't kill akimbo mps with your damage shotgun 75% of the time you're not using it right.
Another fun overkill class is a pm-9 w/ ext mags and silencer with a bolt action sniper.
I would agree with you about not using the shotgun right but lag comp affects more than just our internet speed.
yes..i absolutely love Overkill... i run it on just about every class i have....you can check my elite profile for all my setups...but they change everytime i prestige. i do understand those thay think it's useless but i got tired of trying to find another gun lying around that was to my liking... plus i'm not one of those assassin queens..i only have it on 2 classes...one for complete steath and the other for air support... as i have found myself still getting hit by air support and such while running Blind Eye Pro and Assissin Pro i feel that OverKill Pro is much more usefull...
I've been thinking about giving overkill a go. It would be my usual MK14 and then a riot shield.I would primarily just have the shield on my back to add some protection cause im so tired of getting shot from behind by someone camping a corner.
Plus proficiency does not transfer when you pick up other peoples weapons (other than 2 attachments)
They do if you get the specialist bonus. Doesn't matter if it's a MP or pistols they still transfer
USAS-12/MP7 with SOH, and STALKER, with Support is a deadly package for me. Gets me 20+ kills a game, only sacrifice is no ASSASSIN, so i almost die 15+ times a game.
Haha. That's amost the identical setup to one of my Overkill classes. Only difference is my MP7 is Snow Camo and I run a Pred, Heli, Reaper Assault package usually.
Love Overkill - so underrated.
I heard a rumour from a pretty reliable source yesterday that Overkill gives you 10% faster movement...
MK14 with kick and ACOG, PP90M1 with kick and rapid fire, SOH Pro, And Stalker Pro. This ones my favourite overkill setup
