Sigh... Am I the Only One Who actually wanted Clan Challenges before Clan Ops?

As the Title Says am I the only one who thinks Clan Ops are less important then Clan Challenges? Okay before you get all crazy and the Trolls come out let me explain.

I am very Glad Clan Ops is out it's great it's finally here, but here is my problem, while clan Ops are great, let's face it, between the Boosters and the Crazy Hardcore Demigod Clans, my Chances of getting anything more then a bit of EXP from Clan Ops is fairly slim, and don't get me wrong I'm not selling my Clan Short we are fairly competitive, but between the fact we are in Australia where the Times of Events are like 7AM (when I and others are at work and some members are at School/Uni (College for those in US)) and those aforementioned Demigod Players, Clan Ops is not going to Boost our EXP that far, I wanted Clan Challenges where we don't need to give Two Stick Shifts about times of the Day or Skill Level, we can just build as we go, it also means Players without Premium can contribute, so in the end I'm actually quite disappointed.

Please Beachhead put up Clan Challenges within the next few days even if you just put up a few small Challenges, maybe even some that are like Daily and Weekend Challenges in Game, or you could add the ones like how many days clan has been around or things that can't be cheated or whatever, I assume your worried about Boosters or something so don't add the Kill ones yet, I just want to get some EXP without having to get up in the middle of the night...

BTW just want to add Thank You Beachhead for Finally Releasing Clan Ops, as I said I am Glad they are here, just not as glad as I'll be when Clan Challenges are up.

It looks to me like they've forgotten about clan challenges. I can't find anything under the clans section of Elite where it used to talk about both clan ops and clan challenges, now it's just clan ops. something tells me we may never see clan challenges, and have that many emblems to not be able to unlock

Why am I not surprised that the moment we get clan ops, people start whining about other parts almost IMMEDIATELY, this generation truely makes me sad.........

It's not that I'm whining because one part of elite is coming out later than another part, but I'm trying to understand why they use the release of one aspect to hide the fact that other aspects were promised. Like I said a few weeks ago, in the clan section of elite, it had a little preview of both clan operations and challenges. Now it has the info on clan ops, but clan challenges are nowhere to be found, not even a coming soon icon or anything. Thats what pisses me off

Because IMO, clans are a PACKAGE.  You either roll out the feature, or you don't until it's fully ready.  The way they've done the whole thing is to hang people out purposefully to force more people to pay for Elite.  First it's "Here's clans....oh, but the only way to get any XP for them is to be a founder."  Then it's, "Still haven't bought Elite?  Ok, here's the next phase, BUT you have to be a premium member to even try to get XP from a three hour period that every single clan is going to try to get it from and only the top 50% get any XP at all."  Here we are almost 5 months after launch and we STILL don't have full functionality.  No wonder more AREN'T premium members.

And for the record, I'm NOT from this generation (as you put it).  I am almost 40 years old with a wife of 17 years and a family.  12 of the 18 members of my clan are 35 or older.  Good try though.

Yes it is "sad" that consumers want what they pay for isn't it?
That we're asking for features we were promised we were getting out of the box?

Sure, we've waited patiently for a few months, but this is becoming rediculous now, you'ld think with the amount of money Activision are making they could pump some of it into making possibly one of their biggest efforts at a cash grab work?

Companies like this, and people like you who anywhere near stand up for them make me sad.

Because it is human nature and arogance to do that. People seem to forget that this is the first time anything like this was tried in this series. So they expect it to be perfect and work with no problems from the get go. When rationally it probably will not even come close to working correctly until about the third year of development. Which we are really only in the second year of the life cycle of the feature. Knowing that and understanding that very few things work in life as always expected I did not expect it to work as promised. Promises are made to be broken at times because some times the promises were made too large and could not have been achieved at the expected date that was first mentioned.

When those "promises" made you mention are broken in this case, then they amount to fraud. We were sold on said "promises." When we do not get them after having paid for the whole kit and kaboodle, isn't it logical to be upset and angry about it? Or do you like to purchase a car that the dealer says has everything but when you go to drive it away, it doesn't have an engine? I'm sure you would be quite happy to sit in your car that won't move because the dealer sold you on something they had no intention of delivering. Right? Didn't think so.

I, too, wanted clan challenges before clan ops because doing challenges with the clan would be more fun than doing competitions with the clan. People complained (I was one of them) about how they handled Lone Wolf Ops  and they are handling Clan Ops in the same way. Nothing has changed and people are still going to boost/cheat to win these competitions. The clans that cheat the best will win the clan ops.

I'm happy clan ops are available but I too am still looking forward to the clan challenges more. Mostly because I started a clan for myself and my "real life" friends rather than trying to join a competitive clan. There are only six of us in the clan and only three of us are premium members. So from the start I knew our chances of doing well in clan ops would be slim. We are enlisted and just hope to be in the top 50% to grab a measly 250xp. I was hoping clan challenges would be something us as a small clan could just slowly plug away at and hopefully reach the top level for our clan. I play a lot and just got my eighth prestige so clan challenges seemed like our clans best bet for leveling up. I'm sure we are not the only clan in this type of situation.

At this point in Elite's track record I don't see how any post could come off whiney. Elite owes us what we were advertised and payed our money for. They have failed miserably over and over! It's actually comical now when I get a tweet about another operation canceled due to technical difficulties. Or my favorite, canceled due to scheduled maintenance! Key word scheduled! Pull your head out of your asses Elite and get your **** together. I'd bet money this first clan operation gets canceled also!

I'm right there with ya.  I like being in my small clan with only people that I know.  But because of that, we have no chance in hell of doing good in these Clan Ops.  Don't get me wrong, I am glad to see Clan Ops active, but it really means nothing to my clan of 5 w/ two premium members.  Clan Challenges means a lot more to me than Operations.  We will still enlist in clan ops in hopes of getting in to the top 50% for the measly 250xp, but with all the mega clans and booster clans, I doubt we will even make it in the top 50%.

i get what you are saying. my clan is in the same situation we only have 9 members and only 6 are premium but what bugs me about these clan ops are that we wait so long for them and they are at times in the middle of the day where we have to work instead of later on at night when we have time. basically for both dom ops we only have like 3 that can participate and the new one for tdm on sunday is at 7am? i mean that one none of us will have to work that early but that means that we have to get up early on a sunday morning to have a chance for all of us to participate. although that one isnt so bad cause if we dont want to get up that early thats on us.
im just waiting for half of the clan ops to get cancelled a half an hour before they are scheduled to start like all the lone wolf ops are.

I totally agree. Especially about the time of the events. I live in the USA on the West Coast PST.

The times of the events are ideal for East Coast people EST, but not for the working people on the west coast. 4pm to 6pm tomorrow? I don't get off till 5 like most people. The saturday operation works out.

Honestly though I don't really care much because I'm sure it would be a hassle to try to make operations regional. Plus it's not like we're actually playing against other clans, we're playing against regular users which kinda defeats the purpose in my opinion.

I was always more excited for Clan Challenges than Clan Ops, and that certainly didn't change when I saw that the Operations are just the lone wolf operations renamed.  They are still just for the hardcore players who will make time for the 3 hours at whatever time of day to play, when clans are made up more of people from different walks of life that don't have 3 hours while they are working.

Challenges seemed to me like a fun way for people to level up a clan even when they were casual or less skilled players.  Now I would guess we will never see them, like a lot of stuff we were promised and hasn't been delivered yet.

Have fun next year when beachhead cuts staff in half because no one buys whatever "elite" crap they put put.

    Gday Munchman

    Another fellow Aussie here

I have to agree with you.  I am very appreciative that Clan Operations have arrived- I was very skeptical over the past few weeks as to whether or not they would ever arrive.  However, Clan Challenges would be nice.  I have enrolled our Clan in the Domination Ops for this weekend, but unfortunately it doesn't look like many will be available, or have the time for this first lot.  Granted if this was a few months ago, everyone was playing many more hours per day on this game, and I probably would have got a better turn out.  So yes- I definitely want challenges to arrive, so that I can continue to contribute XP in a meaningful way to my Clan.  Let's hope they arrive soon...

Beachhead has been posting on this forum in the last 24 hours, so maybe they will be kind enough to come into this thread and give us some information as pertaining to Clan Challenges too?

    Don't really care.

Just glad we've finally got something to do to level up the clan than getting Founders.

i agree clan challenges are a faster way for smaller clans to level and you can do them whenever unlike clan ops with the BS start times witch is when most people are still working or in school

Now that I have had a chance to do one it might not be so bad. I was able to cap 114 flags playing solo for my clan an was at least able to get into the bronze. Good to know you don't need a full six to even have a chance at getting some xp. My clan member did the defense one alone too and got bronze. I'm still looking forward to the challenges. On a side note why does elite tolerate boosting in clan ops. If caught they should be banned from entering any future events. It delays everyone getting our xp while they sort out the douchebags...I mean boosters. Have a zero tolerance policy and be open about it. Hell, it's your tournament elite, put it in the official rules and enforce it strictly. Anyway, this is the first time I feel like I got something out of elite. Would have been nice three months ago. I'll definitely be doing more. See you guys out there.

I think they held off, due to the thought of boosting not only Ops, but Challenges. I'm already only pretty sure people will 'boost' to get that 1k or 5k exp from Daily/Weekly.

With that being said, perhaps they wanted to get a gauge as to how many will try and boost the Ops aspect, and maybe found some loopholes, and ways for Clans to boost the Challenges. You have to remember that there were millions complaining about Clan *Anything* for Elite. They had to put something out there. Hell, notice how there are only 3 types? Surprised people aren't bitching about how there should be other Clan Ops in different game types! That's only to come for sure, but for the meantime most of us are pacified...

Also that is why i was reluctant to start this thread originally I didn't want to sound like another whiner... but it's hard to not come across that way, also I'm interested to see if they add Clan ops for CTF/Sabotage/HQ or Demolition... I kinda prefer those modes.

It's not really sounding like a whiner- it's just asking an honest question as to when/if we will all get to level up our clans in this way.  After all, we did pay for the service under the impression that this would be the case...

In regards to Sabo/HQ/CTF Clan Ops- you probably wouldn't think they'll release those, not for awhile yet?  Possibly Demolition, SnD, Kill Confirmed- modes with a larger playerbase.

I wonder if Beachhead will contribute to this thread, maybe give us some feedback or information?

ELITE_Help posted the link that shows what's included in Premium.  I responded by saying that list includes things that are in fact NOT available such as Clan Challenges.

My post was deleted last night.

    This is so corrupt...
