How does the scoring system in elite work?

My clan consists of only 4 players and only 2 of us have elite premium. All I've seen about the scoring system is that it will take the top 6 scores in your clan, but what will they do with these scores, will they add them or take and average? because if they add them then smaller clans wont stand a chance.
for example:
My clan:
player 1 24 points
player 2 20 points
other clan:
player 1 10
player 2 9
player 3 8
player 4 7
player 5 6
player 6 5
If the top 6 scores are added, my clan would have 44 points, however the other team would have 45. However, if an average was taken my clan would win by far,our average would be 22 while theirs would be 7.5. can somebody clear this up for me. thanks in advance.
Only the players who are Premium Elite members will be counted toward a competition. I've included the FAQ for Clan Operations below.

That really doesn't answer my question, i've already looked at the FAQ and that doesn't answer my question either.
Hey it's simply like lone ops all players scores will rank a position the higher you position the better the prize. If you have more than 6 premium players in your clan then only the top 6 scores will count to give a fair chance to other clans with less players. So for example you have 2 premium players and you could finish 3rd and 10th now that to me would warrent gold and maybe silver rewards. But if you had a clan of 6 members with premium and the all ranked in silver and bronze places then your clan would receive the rewards for all 6 members.
I think bronze is 250 clan xp so that times 6 would be 1500 clan xp earned.
Does this make sense? Its not about averages its simply like lone wolf but your score xp for your clan, it's not really a clan system tbh but hey we waited long enough and it seems fair so I will give it a try.
wait, so it's the exact same as lone wolf but you get clan xp. does the leaderboard display individual players scores instead of clan scores then. If this is the case, it is not CLAN ops at all.
you'll lose against the 6 man clan. It's the top 6.
I know it's the top 6 but will they take an average of all the clans scores or add them.
Oh I've found out from another thread that they add the scores, kinda sucks for my clan, I might have to convince some more freinds to get premium.
