Downgrade internet one tier, fantastic results

So after reading tons of accounts of people with great internet lagging, and seeing that Ghandi fellow admit there is a compensator mechanism in place, I dropped my net speed. The only reason I had 30/5 D/U was for COD, dropped it to (I think) 18/2 and now I never get buggy matches. I only pull host occaisionally instead of 2/5 games and don't even suffer as much when I do. Idk I'm kind of glad now I can pay less for internet, but I can definitely see the frustration for those of you who have higher speeds for other reasons.

If you're on the fence about chopping your connection, definitely do it. Before this I had good and bad matches randomly same lobby, different lobby whatever no matter what I used for a loadout or how I played. Now in pretty much every match I finish 2.0 or higher and sniping feel like god mode, I guess there's a plus to being stuck playing a half second behind everyone now that I'm on a level playing field! Not bragging, but seriously the difference is mind blowing.

Ghadi actually stated that this was a big problem in the game. people like you purposely severing their connections to put themselves at an advantage and thereby greatening the disdain of connection issues for everyone around you.

If everyone keeps chopping their connections then the game will only continue to get worse and worse for more players. The game is a lot of fun when your 2 seconds ahead of everybody. But its not so fun when you're on their end, 2 seconds behind everybody else. And that's basically what you're instigating.

But I cant really blame you for wanting a better connection to the game to increase your enjoyment. Theres obviously a problem with it, and chopping your connection is only like spraying perfume on a mummy. Seems better but in reality its only deteriorating more on the inside.

I wish they kept it the same way as before. Good connection= Good play  Bad connection= Sub par play. That way you're encouraging players to better their connection. they want to host games. And everyone's happy. Unless you have a less than acceptable Internet connection or are mooching off neighbors. Tough luck.

IMO the lag compensation is a lag switch for the players with a weaker internet connection.  They (IW) talked about having fair games but they lag the players in the lobby.  Here is an example:

    When you purchase this car:

do you except it to perform like this one?

The same goes for internet, you should get what you pay for; not what someone else (Who is NOT paying for you connection) think you should get.

not saying your wrong but you got to remember somepeople can only get certain internet depending on where they live. At my house when im not at college we only have one choice for internet.....meaning there i no paying for a better conection

Yes but you are now pushing your issue onto me which is not fair. It's not my fault but yet I get punished for it.

I have 30/5 D/U net too, never crossed my mind to drop it.  Once I had a fantastic night, going way positive.  When I called it quits for the night I came to bed and noticed my desktop was on with 3 torrents pulling down at least 300k each...I guess that helped me out.  But I don't purposely do that ever, I always shut down the desktop and I will never decrease my speed.  Those speeds are useful to me elsewhere...

I have played MW3 on plenty of different connections and the worse the connection the worse the experience everytime.

Did you even read his post?

He didn't bottleneck his connection, he went out and bought a cheaper internet connection package with less speeds.
