Maybe you're right but let's face it. There is no other shooter out there that compares to COD. All my friends play BF3 and I join them more often but it's really bad. Lag is there but you don't recognize it because of bad graphics and low framerate. Hell I would say BF looks worse than MW2 and that's two years old. I might play MW2 or try if 3Arc finally got their lag stuff fixed but you know how it is with old stuff. Fun to play a few rounds but there's nothing new to aquire. And other shooters? I'm not into Halo and even though there are other MPs that might have potential they never have a chance to get their player numbers up. Check XBL Top 20 and you see 4 COD games. So I would prefer IW fixing this game because every other solution would be sub-par.
I've droped Modern Warfare 3 and got Battlefield 3. It's simply a better game in any way. I regret I was so narrow-minded and played only Call of Duty.

@ G IH A IN ID II :
Your polite & frequent interaction on this forum is appreciated. Please understand that, by now, we're way past "be patient." Call of Duty customers deserve more accountable answers & solutions instead of hearing things like "we plan to continue working on it, so just wait & see."
The Call of Duty series has enjoyed billions of dollars in sales & MW3 is the seventh Call of Duty game to offer multiplayer on Xbox Live...
...After all that time, money, experience, & customer feedback, the performance & security of Call of Duty games should be getting better - not worse.
Out of MW3's numerous defects, the "lag" issue (commonly referred to by many names, such as: lag compensation, latency, synchronization, hit detection, hit registration, net code, "Wanted" bullets, "a second ahead/behind," etc.) appears to be, by far, the most severe problem affecting the most customers.
It might even be argued that this issue affects all MW3 customers - those who report having no issues may, in fact, simply be on the favorable side of this very same "lag" problem.
It's conceivable that this lag issue is also a major contributor to other problems (such as weapon balance - a weapon's effectiveness is certainly affected by lag/sync circumstances).
Most of us do not have this problem with anywhere near this level of frequency & severity when playing other games over Xbox Live (even other Call of Duty games).
Judging by the frequency & severity of this issue, I can't imagine why the MW3 team would have any priority higher than fixing it.
The kind of tweaking/hot-fixing/patching going on now in MW3 seems like the sort of thing that should occur pre-release (alpha/beta phase) rather than post-launch. We're nearly 3 months into MW3 (one-eighth of the 2 years' time it took to develop the entire game) & many issues do not seem to be improving much (if at all).
If MW3's developers cannot duplicate this lag issue in their testing environment, perhaps their testing environment does not adequately mimic the live/production environment, or perhaps they should try different testing methods. Judging by the high volume of detailed customer reports regarding this issue, it doesn't seem like it would very difficult to reproduce.
The developers are the experts/pros. The complexities of game development come with the job. Clearly something has gone very wrong if the beast has outgrown their ability to tame it. None of the game's problems/defects seem like anything multi-billion-dollar sales couldn't easily find ways to overcome.

Why did they remove the lag come sation in theater mode? I mean i would be having bad lag comp and would go back to theater to laugh my ank off. But now its not there anymore. Wish they could remove the lag out of the game as quick as they took it out of theater. The thing that i hate the most is that the elite tournaments are eing ruined by uneven connections. Bad connection players are dominating

Does any one have a clue how I can retard my connection so I cannot host. Going moderate or strict isnt good enough. I want at least a 300-400kbps upload from around the 5Mbps up that I have now. I will not participate in the cheating of quality internet users any longer. I will not downgrade my service.
I want some of this cheat variable that was added into the game by the developers. Please respond in clarity if possible. Running wireless isnt good enough. I want the plate full of this cheat code they have put in the game.
Thank you for any help given.

excellent post, after this one there's really nothing more to say since IW knows the symptoms and are to to deliver a solid remedy instead of masking and hiding the problems with minor tweaks.

Good to see you back on the forums operator-1.
I can say my connectivity has improved after numerous title updates/hotfixes but for others, it's still the same crap so I'll keep providing feedback on a weekly basis.
I still support more tweaks & title updates to connectivity and hopefully these fixes will continue to improve the game.
All I ask is no one (including you technical) to use programs to alter your experience as it's affects the developers testing on lag comp (to making it a better experience for us all). Keep providing clips & your experience so you we can get this sorted as soon as possible.

I see the point of technical. it's basically the same as people exaggerating teamkills in hardcore to point out that attention is needed BUT this is clearly the wrong way as can be observed in the same example. Riccochet might be a cheap and easy fix but it's not the solution.
Same goes here. I'm no developer but I understand that a certain amount of lag-compensation is neccesary and that it's only working to an certain extent. So they have to make two things shure: a) Matchmaking has to put low ping players in low ping lobbies and high ping players in high ping lobbies. b) frequent adjusting of latency (before or after matchmaking) to get an advantage must be punished hard.

They should also detect wireless & wired connectivity players as well.
Wired players generally have a solid connection whereas wireless can be great but the signal can drop so often it can impact everyone elses gaming experience.
I'm wired, I host about 80% of the time & all electronic devices are switched off while gaming so at least I my mates have a solid connection to my host connection.
I've heard of players who still get host off a wireless connection which is a no-no. No one on a wireless connection should be allowed host.
