    I'm trying to understand how prizes are being offered when this lag comp is affecting people's reaction time, hit marker recognition, and plain old robbing people of kills. To me, the better and higher ur connection is, the more lag conp u get. And having a 45 down/35 upload with an average 8ms ping, I get a lot of lag comp given to me. But again, how is it fair that I'm being punished because I get afford good internet? If I have a Lamborghini and u have Prius, I'm pretty sure I should win. But in this game, it's the opposite. Not my fault I have good Internet and it shouldn't be the game's fault that u cant keep up, so why I'm a being punished??

    @ G IH A IN ID II, So I tried running with a shotgun just to see if I could have some laughs at my own expense. I did....This game is so full of FAIL when running with a SG and having good connection service. I have gotten no hitmarkers, again. Had to it someone 4 times with SA+grip+QD and got mowed down...This situation was CQC.

     

    I sat in a corner waiting for this guy to come around the corner from A on Bootleg. Had a UAV, he walks out I smack him 3 times from at least 5 ft away, all hit markers. I die. My sons mother laughs and turns over the other way in the bed. Thanks guys. Funny thing is she asked me "Why wont you just play another game, because that one suck" Now mind you she loves CoD4, MW2. She hates Black Ops with a passion.

     

    Thank you for the laughs guys at the Development Company. I cant even take this game serious in any way...anymore. i have to find a way to dumb my connection down or at least get 1Mb/s Down 400kb/s Up to both systems and run wireless.

     

    I have to get some of this lag comp. I mean you guys are just giving it away. If thats the only way I can enjoy the game.

    I've mentioned in previous posts that both theater & Elite are causing these sync issues.

    Think about it...COD titles before Black Ops did not have all these added features but ran SO much smoothly.

     

    For me, I've been playing much slowly than I normally do in previous COD titles.

    Not by sitting in a corner of course but using Sitrep Pro, using Astro A40 headsets basically soundwhoring & pre-firing the shite out of players.

    What's great about it is that alot of players run either Steady Aim or Stalker so it's easy kills for me.

    Neither theater nor Elite have any measurable effect on in game performance. No client or host bandwidth is utilized in MW3 to perform these functions during a session.

    In all due respect GHANDI, I've had better games with theater switched off.

     

    I switched it on last week & I found matches generally laggy (for me) especially when I'm hosting. Understandly it may have not been affecting other players (when I host) but it was definetly affecting me.

     

    It could just be in my head though

     

    As I said, the recent hotfixes have improved the connectivty for me but I'm not confident enough to switch theater back on.

    RIght here you have hit squarely on the head the problem any online 'twitch' competetive game faces nowadays be it listen server or dedicated infrastructure based: the vast disparity between the quality of connection available to players. This is the problem all online game designers face nowadays. This disparity didn't exist to the same degree even 2 years ago and was virtually non existent in the MW1 era. Is it fair that those with high quality ISPs should win automatically? No. Is it equally fair that those with entry level ISP performance automatically win? Also no. The challenge we face is to ensure the balance between these extremes is equitable for all and this is a non trivial problem. This is what we continue to work on. Add to the problem that many people are artificially employing a more sophisticated version of lag switching by artificially throttling their upload bandwidth either via router settings or other means and the problem is exacerbated.

     

    We have other fixes and optimizations queued up which we believe will help,and will continue to work on the problem.

    You say you won't go into weapon balancing discussions since it's subjective.

     

    With it all due respect but this is not subjective it either is or isn't consistent and it isn't.

    It's that simple. You get alot more close range hitmarkers now then you did before the patch.

     

    And it has nothing to do with connection. Sure it would be different if it was a LAN like connection but let's face it that's not going to happen.

     

    I mean pre patch there were a lot less hitmarkers and the connection was the same arguably worse then it is now. So it's obvious the problem lies in the shotguns themselves.

    Just tried playing MW2 this weekend, it was near perfect. I was host maybe two games, all good hosting or not hosting. No one had huge advantage or disadvantage.

     

    Then i played MW3, i was half a clip behind, died behind corners. When hosting and when not hosting. Its unplayable.

     

    I Would go back to MW2 but its full of cheaters / hackers. (on PS3) This is also another thing IW promised to patch, but they didnt. Is this lag comp the same? You say you are gonna fix it but do nothing? Did you get updates on the PS3 patch?

    what about stricter rules for matchmaking. low ping and high ping don't mix that well so why try to join them?

    Here is how I see this issue. The Infinity Ward team is trying to balance out extremely good connections and poor connections by artificially giving the poor connection an advantage, while hindering the good connection. I understand the good intention behind this decision, but see how this is and will always be a problem.

         It is in everyone's best interest to obtain the most optimum connection they possibly can. They do so for many reasons outside of the Call of Duty gaming experience. Streaming videos, downloading large files, using Skype to communicate with friends- these are all good reasons to pursue a good connection. Now this game comes along that has many people feeling as if they are being punished for trying to make the gaming experience the best they can. This is the equivalent of making the games audio quality poor and only mono, because not everyone can afford an expensive 7.1 surround sound system or a nice pair of Astro A40s (perhaps this is why we cannot control the games volumes independently!).

         Players are now artificially dumbing down their connection in a vain attempt to level the playing field versus someone who does not strive to obtain a decent connection to be competitive in this game. Infinity Ward must now come up with elaborate methods to detect players who are throttling their connection. Is this not the exact opposite direction good development should go? Good players, who try their best to have the best gaming experience, and in turn provide the best hosting experience for the rest of the players in their lobby, must be punished- while those that play casually and could care less about their connection, are rewarded. Not just rewarded, but handed the game on a silver platter.

         I believe that Infinity Ward should approach this problem from the opposite perspective. They should give players an incentive to be host. Players should want to have the best connection they can get. Everyone would benefit in the end.

         Players would still complain about lag, they would complain about host advantage- but this wouldn't be because the game is inherently programmed to make them be at a disadvantage, it would be something that they could actually do something about.

     

         More importantly, why is the compensation that is received by the poorly connected player so much? It seems that Infinity Ward approached this fly problem with a baseball bat.

    May you  notice a few facts for you guys:

    1st At LA XP is`nt mr.402 or what was the name(becouse for  me the correct one is a Big Fat Liar) says that there is no be a Last Stand?

    2nd is`t was promote the whole so called Elite to be all platform include?

    3 What happen , with a PS3 founder`s and the so called "Season content" ?
    4 Can you disavowal  truth that 2 community PC and Wii (as far as i understand from few wii users) are pushed aside?
    5 Support , hmmm this even don`t exist in your dictionary.Even if you are mad enough to seek for this the person with  who you will sepak will be a compleatly ignorant or irrelevant as well  I can count with a ages like this and for sure thouse are facts, facts which confirm that you lie since day 1 and never ever get even close to the truth!
    let me highligh  a few,in general the MW3 use the too old engine isnt he?Hmmm i think it is under DX9 if im wrong correct me.Make game to work at more PC`s instead of teh quality, nothing new as mechanic as well so from s/w it seems to me  as rewirte`n MW2(to don`t say a MW but is close enough ).However i pre order 1 copy for PS3 (with all thouse ellite s**t ) and one for my PC.So i dont blame that you use a old engine and so on i blame you totaly abondamnt your costumer at all and your constantly lying.
    I will not point all thouse "small things" as overpowered wepon`s, a tons of hack, glitch users, lack of clear answers and that even don`t scratch the surfice.So in some point im more than agreed with bulffran(if that is correct one) regarding his rage.I personaly solve all thouse issue with a buying (we all know what i will subscribe , so i will not, to avoid some trolling here)... but your arrogance is intolerable!!!

    But to have that attitude to some persons ( i higligh a bulfranofc with no intention to insult him at any kind)who "even dont finish the high school", well done dev. well done.
    So my suggestion is to be a bit more temperate in your answers ,and to spend a more euphoria at trying to mend your "product" instead to effect in your responce at this forum.
