So in theory you spent $5 extra (or saved $5 if you bought the HE) to get all the maps early. Whoop-de-do.

The people that push elite, are not the people responsible for fixing the terrible online lag. They are allowed to do both.

i'd opt for the second scenerio you listed. at least we'd get the maps with time to play them before the next game comes out. the missions and modes... eh.
what's weird is, didn't they already give us one mode... drop zone without calling it dlc... and at the same time as every other console... why are the rest of them all of sudden something special?

Are most of you on crack ? Cod Elite is a rip off and it doesn't even work... it doesn't even work for free users i doubt i'll ever buy cod elite.
if Elite is on all the infinity ward cods i'll most likely stop buying cod games im already done with Treyarch.

They all come under the Activision umbrella, they won't/can't fix the game and they won't/can't fix Elite.

What do you mean "stop being cheep"?
There's a difference between being "cheep" and being an idiot, time will most likely teach you this lesson, until then stop giving advice.
You are only assuming what your 20 pieces of DLC are, for now we only definitely know there are at least 2 maps, it is likely there will be more, but no-ones sure!
I doubt there will ever be clan challenges and all that money for the chance to win prizes a few crappy maps and some camo's for your guns - doesn't sound like a good idea to me!

so were you upset when hardened edition from previous installments got stuff earlier than the rest? it's called a perk for paying more for the game than the 60 bucks it costs

The first full collection for non-Elite members releases in March on Xbox 360, yes.
With ELITE Premium, users are getting maps and content as it is finished, which is replacing the traditional "wait until everything that is going to be in the collection is ready, then release it". The March Collection will not have just two maps -- it will consist of the January, Feburary, and March Premium content drops.
If you look back at Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward released it's first -map pack- in March. You shouldn't be surprised that MW3's first DLC pack will release in the same month if you looked at their previous release schedule.

the only reason I bought the hardened package was for map packs... anything else beyond that is a bonus for me...so when we have full functionality from elite then I gey more than my moneys worth but atm ... with the map packs coming I am already getting my moneys worth.
