People have multiple profiles on one console because more than one person lives in the house dumbass!

i got the elite on my main profile but not on my second profile why is it not allowing me to use the dlc with second profile on the same 360 if you think im gonna pay you 50$ for each profile on the same console thats ridiculous any way around this or what

op does have a valid point this is what it says on usgae policy before you download

Well. Having two different accounts on the same console does not guarantee you that both profiles will be able to download contents. I have asked xbox customer service if I could make another profile and still be able to have the 1 year gold membership from my other account using the same console and the gentleman told me I have to have separate membership. So, both profiles need to have two separate elite membership.

then that profile has to pay for it , read xbox 360 & xbox live terms of service .

are you surprised by this OP?

you have to buy an XBL subscription for more than one profile. you can't play a game on two consoles with 2 profiles using 1 copy of the game. why would you be able to play Elite only DLC on two profiles on the same console when only one profile has Elite?

seems reasonable to me. i would call them and see what the deal is, but you may not get the answer you're hoping for. you do have ammo on your side here in that Elite has been a disaster so they may want to silence these folks before people keep hating.

hope you get a break. the maps were great when i tried them out this morning

I'm in the same boat - I've got Elite Subs and have downloaded the maps, only my son who shares the console cannot access them.

I thought the Elite service was all the online webby stuff and perks you get, as well as 12 months worth of Free DLC.

In all previous COD releases, the map packs have been accessible to all profiles on that console. It's not like both users can play the game at the same time.

Imagine if the game discs were locked to each users? So you'd have to buy mulitple copies of a game even if you all used the same console.

The useage policy that maccabi so kindly points out, does indicate that the 'Access to this item will also be granted to all users on this first console'

Well it isn't and theres the problem.

Re: elite content on 360 not available to other profiles?

I would have thought it obvious that it would only work on one profile; it's a SUBSCRIPTION service.

Put it this way, if you bought Sky tv, would you expect it to work on ALL tvs in your home? No, of course not, it only works for the tv it is linked to, do you expect every profile on your Xbox to have Gold, just because you bought it on one account? again, NO, and it is exactly the same here. ELITE is linked to one account only.

BTW, I don't know why people are getting annoyed at this, you do know that giving the dlc away was essentially fraud anyway, don't you?

Same here.   Already putting down 60 bucks each XBOX Live account.

Can't use the maps between accounts that have always been on same XBOX 360.

It seems like if you wanted to use the maps between accounts you own, too bad.  Wait and see if they unlock when the maps become available to non-elite subscribers.

Sucks.  The whole point to giving Activision 50-60 bucks ahead of time was to get maps early, fresh.

Elite is only worth it for the pre-paid maps, everything is else is fluff.   If your other accounts are locked from using the maps, its a bad investment.

the maps when bundled together will be available to all accounts on an XBOX 360.  It's MS policy, pretty much.  That's the whole point to a new XBOX 360 downloading the rights database for all games you have purchased on accounts you want to bind to a new XBOX 360.

I just discovered the same thing. My brother can't play the new maps unless we're split screening and I am first player. Really stupid IMO since every other dlc in every other game works on his so long as my profile is not recovered elsewhere.

I just got done talking to call of duty support, you can only access the maps by the profile with elite memberhip. When the map come out for -non members they will have to pay for them again and re download the map pack.

Wow this sucks! Of course multiple accounts on one unit (xbox, ps3, etc.) should be able to use the downloadable content. Some of my family members share my console and I think it is quite unfair to charge each account on a single console for elite premium. Also, thanks Maccabi for posting the usage agreement that states our case.
