Why does everyone say high sensitivity is for turning to kill someone?

I thought it was for checking corners faster. Like for example you go into a room and there's a corner to the left and to the right. If you play at a low sensitivity and say you check the left corner, someone in the right corner will kill you before you can turn around.
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes.
It can be useful for both, also for drag scoping. But I say play on whatever you feel comfortable with. No point bumping your sensitivity to something ridiculous if you're not comfortable with it.
I love 10 because if someone runs passed me in a door way but doesn't realize it; I can whip around lay down (drop shot) get the kill and keep on my way. It also allows me to see more things around me faster.
i play on 4 and turn on people just fine id say 80% of the players that i come across who have thier senseitivty on 10 over aim and have no control over the crosshairs and i can basically hit mny shots so by the time you react you're dead 10 senseitivity is seen as the cool thing like quickscoping, dropshoting. i dropshot when i need to i quickscope when i need to players that do it make laugh so hard they go for the montage kill evertime and i does not always work. any good pro player will tell you the lower your senseitivity the better your aim but its all down to preferance
Higher sensitivity has its advantages but has its disadvantages as well untill you absolutely master it. I use about a 4 right now. I feel it helps me check corners quicker and turn faster without compromising too much long distance accuracy.
when you master it, it is very nice, i have bean using 10 since cod4 and it is an extreme benefit

A higher sensitivity is better for both, for turning around to kill someone and for checking corners faster. You can get to a 4 sensitivity on Xbox or 6 on PS3 without having to practice too much; this should be more than adequate to turn & kill and also to check corners without sacrificing aim accuracy.
Of course, if you can get used to a 10 sensitivity AND still maintain your aiming accuracy, then that would be the ultimate goal. (I feel it's easier on the PS3.)
Just don't let your ego get in the way.
I definitely miss Combat Training in Black Ops for getting used to higher sensitivity levels; Spec Ops Survival doesn't work remotely as well for this, in my opinion.
Yeah I was playing on 4 before, but I let the high sensitivity guys get to my head again. You are right, 4 is pretty much sufficient for what I was talking about.
Like Bungie says.. "Higher sensitivity does not nessisarily mean a better player."
All personal choices. It's taken me ~2 years to work up to using the insaine sensitivity.
Before that I probably used a 5 or a 7.
The Pros and Cons:
(# = sensitivity - Pro)
10 - quicker turn rate, more likely to be able to counter someone behind you.
1 - greater accuracy, less of a chance to move off target by overcorrecting.
10 - Able to stay on target in CQC/if targets moving fast.
8 sensi with kontrol freeks = best of both worlds
I used the FPS Freeks for about a year. I love the leverage they give, but ultimately I do not like the extended length of the sticks.

I liked the control they gave me but the left stick destroyed my hand so I took them off. stupid RSI ![]()
I play on 8 sensitivity with my controllers sensitivity set to high. I can aim just as accurately and turn on someone in an instant. It has and will continue to save my life in game.
Honestly it doesn't matter a whole lot. Most players play at a rather low sensitivity. Playing on a high sensitivity only gives you an advantage once you are used to it. The controler also plays a big part on higher sensitivity. If my main controler runs out of juice i have a hell of a time keeping up on my other one because the joy stick is just a tab bit tighter.
Reason I like the higher sensitivity is because when ever i look around the screen i always move my cross hairs where my eyes are. If i'm lookin in a window, my cross hairs are there. If i notice something out of the corner of my eye i can instantly be locked on to it. If someone runs past me i can turn around and kill them before they even start to turn.
Also like you said it does help you check areas much quicker and help you not get caught off guard as much. But if you are not used to it you will overcompensate, miss targets, turn around too quickly and lose the target, and a lot of other things. Once you master it tho I really can't see going back to a lower sensitivity.
Wouldn't that still be turning to kill someone?
True. I guess what people say about the whole turning around thing applies to this.
Well, high sensativities is just there to do things faster, like checking corners. Turn kills are A LOT easier with high sensativities. Turn kills is wha ti think of when som1 plays on 4+
I play on two ![]()
Best sensitivity!
Like 7 just feels right for me.
I thought the sensitivity setting was set for how bad you felt because of your low scores . ![]()
Thats why I had mine set on zero. Looking at 90 percent of the posts on this forum looks like everyone had theirs set on high. ![]()
I care nothing about my K/D or scores either. That's why i screw around with things like crazy sensitivity settings and whatnot. But not being able to hit anything gets annoying after a while during my 10 sens phases.

If you have a relatively high sensitivity it does help if you're moving around quite a lot on tight maps etc, I practiced for quite a while changing between 4 right up to 10. For me anything past 7 would now be ridiculous. It all depends on what you get used to. If it weren't for all the junk littered around on some of the maps things would also be better when strafing.
I actually had to turn the sensitivity up for MW3, as the first person to pull the trigger usually comes out on top. In BLOPS, there was additional health to fall back on.
