    Just for the record, I'm "FOR" -- in a qualified sense.  Given the choice between a camper picking off people from back in his spawn and someone running-and-gunning with a sniper rifle, I strongly prefer to play against the run-and-gunner.  If the insurmountable problem with QS is that it ruins SnD games, then the solution should be that trying to choose a class with an SR in SnD means that you spawn with an ACOG M16. Crude, inelegant, but problem solved.  If the problem with QS is that it's an exploitation of aim-assist mechanics on console, then the solution isn't to disable perks or to add "random bullets" or "scope-in sway," but instead to go to the source and tune the aim-assist mechancis for sniper rifles: Is there any way to make aim assist kick-in only AFTER a certain distance (say 30-50 meters)? Or disable aim-assist for snipers all together? If so, then problem solved.

    I'm not a big fan of quick scoping. I don't feel that it ruined snd (However I can't say much since I don't play it often), but I prefer that snipers are used as long distance weapons. One of the biggest problems I think black ops had for sniping was probably the hit detection. (which might have been lag not sure)

    I'm against quickscoping.  I believe if you choose to use a sniper rifle you should be at a significant disadvantage at close range because you have a significant advantage at longer ranges.

     

    If you want to rush there are plenty of SMGs, ARs and shotguns that are perfectly suited for that gameplay style.

    In my opinion snipers already have quite the advantage that they can see you from 1000 yards away and you have not even half a chance to see them, so imo the snipers should be what they are intended for, very strong at range, and not good at close.

     

    A sniper should find it more beneficial to switch to a good secondary pistol for defending close range assaults, rather than finding the sniper just as effective close to medium range as it is for long.

     

    This makes no sense, if you wish to incoporate quick scpoing into the game mechanics, then sniper rifle should have aim assist removed, then feel free to leave the mechanics in there and keep the snipers effective at all ranges.

     

    I dunno, something like that.

     

    As things stand QS in MW3 takes next to zero skill at all, aim assist does all the work.

    People quickscope because hard scopining is boring as hell. I mean who wants to hold down a button for 1 min for a kill. Also if you get QSed in Black Ops, as hard as it is now, you deserved it. I wasnt good at MW2/3 QSing but its hard as hell on Black Ops. Thats why i dont snipe at all.

    Sniping in blackops is PERFECT. I hope to god it stays this way in the next installment.

     

    Sight of hand not effecting snipers, having the heavy sway till fully scoped in, and having recoil when you fire the rifle.

    It is my firm belief that QS needs to come BACK. Before I am hunted down and slaughtered for my ignorance, let me explain a bit further...

     

     

    I have a suggestion that, for all intents and purposes, solves the problem and makes everyone happy.

     

     

    Give sniper rifles the same kind of deal as grenade launchers. (No, not the explosives, I swear)

     

    The bullets should need to travel a certain distance so that they can do their full damage... say about 25-35 feet. at 0-5 feet, 2-3 hit kill, no matter what. The solves those dumb no-scope-barrel-stuff"holyshitidontknowhattodosoillshootmysniperandseeifithits kind of moments that everyone hates...

     

    Then at 6 feet-15 feet, 1 hit kill if it's a headshot, 2 shots for everything else. Then slowly move up the damage over range. However, the compomise is that EVERY single shot at long (I mean actually LONG) ranges is a OHK. I don't care if it hits them in the foot, please give it some credibility so that we don't have the BLOPS problem of the sniping things and having our bullets disintegrate before they reach the target.

     

    Another fix is a QS playlist. I don't know if it's possible to customize the attributes of guns to certain game modes, but please try. I'll send this link as a tweet to you to make sure you read this. KK?

    make sniper rifles sniper rifles with maps and spots if you do not like the long waits then do not snipe if you do not like being shot by snipers stay out of the open sounds pretty simple to me!

    To be honest I cannot quickscope, or very rarely only if im lucky lol. My stance on the matter is a sniper rifle is a sniper rifle and should be used tactically as a long range weapon, not as a 1 hit kill assault rifle! I love nothing more than finding a position on the map and waiting for a enemy to come into my sights and taking them out from long range! This could be classed as camping, but I see it as playing tactically especially if you move to other positions and vantage points on the map after a couple of shots.

     

    I tend to play hardcore mode a lot when sniping as I can use a silencer and still get a 1 hit kill unlike in normal game modes where it would take 2 shots unless you got a head shot! My only problem with hardcore mode is that sometimes (not all the time) although there are no kill cams, an enemy can still see where the shot came from as they die, which is nearly as good as a kill cam, which to me defeats not having kill cams!!!

     

    My only other problem with using sniper rifles as the should be used, is that seondary weapons leave you at a great disadvantage against someone with an automatic rifle, I normally try to steal someones gun after shooting them so I have a good secondary if I need to move position and encounter someone in close combat. I do like the idea in MW3 of the Overlord Perk where you can equip 2 primary weapons thus allowing and assault/SMG and Sniper Rifle. Although if this was available in Black Ops I would like it to be in the third perk tier so that I could still use Ghost Perk (which in my eyes is a needed to remain hidden) and Warlord Perk so that I can have two attachment (Variable Scope & Silencer).

     

    I do feel that the silencer should be less restrictive on the Sniper rifles, due to making it a two hit kill. At very long range I would agree there should be some drop off in the power and accuracy, but not at close to medium range especially for upper torso and head shots! As for Second Chance(SC)/Final Stand(FS) I think and true OHK to the head or upper torso should counter act it as in real life you would be dead! Shots to the limbs etc should not count as a OHK even without SC/FS, but should serverly wound the person who was shot and should restrict movement and deal a lot of damage for a period of time, bit like when a concussion grenade is used!

     

    The variable zoom should also be standard too, although a lot of people would probably argue and say this makes it over powered, I feel that if the sniper rifles were used correctly as they should be then this should not be a problem. You dont not see a lot of true snipers (not quickscopers) getting massive amount of kills!

     

    I would also like to see more maps with different lighting conditions like on Hanoi, and being able to use night vision (COD 4 style) I think this would also add to the experience of being a sniper!

     

    If people really want quickscoping then there should be specific lobbies and game modes that cater for them, maybe Barebones Pure game mods or something like that where perks are not used anyway, and keep them away from the general lobbies. This could be enabled in custom game modes or specifically for things like wager matches! One idea that I had, was to have a wager match specifically for quicksoping and trick shots:

     

    Wager Match Trick Shot

     

    Tony Hawks/Matt Hoffman style scoring for trick shots with multipliers for using combinations and collaterals.

     

    For use with sniper rifles only with possibly increased aim assist.

     

    • No fall damage so you could jump off elevated positions and not die doing a trick shot
    • Faster reloading and scoping in to assist quick scoping  and also increase game speed
    • Other weapons, equipment and kill streaks are available, but points are only awarded for a Trick Shot!
    • Maps specifically made for trick shots with lots of open spaces and elevated positions
    • Easier access to elevated positions such as stairs and ladders, ladders would be used for the most elevated positions as it would require more risk but the benifits and multiplers would be far greaer as more combinations could be used!
    • A quick scope counts as a trick shot but only recieves a minimum score while using combinations etc gains multipliers
    • Hire/recruit people from the trick shot community to consult/advise on the making of the game modes
    • Using this as a wager match idea would allow the persons playing to see how they stand against other trickshotters and a leader board would allow them to see where they stand in the world showing: Highest single score, amounts of trick shots etc etc
