you shouldn't. you worked your butt off to level 74, you should feel proud using it. i don't think using an SMG is cheap especially if you're running around. If you're camping with a Type 95 or an MK14 at the back of the map with assassin, you should have the right to feel cheap but if you're running around, then kudo's to you don't be ashamed

Use what you like if you are happy that's all that counts really.

it's as much your game as it is theirs. use what you want to use, and be happy about it.

You should use what ever loadout and tactics that works for you. If you wanna sit in a corner with a sniper and heartbeat sensor have at it man. How people play only matters to people it can affect. There isn't any wrong way with the exception of boosting/cheating. I play with a group that uses tactics most would hate. We have a few people who post up so we have a safe spawn. While some like myself move around relaying enemy movements.

I can't believe anyone would say the MP7, of all guns, is OP. When I use it, even with Rapid Fifre, it seems like absolute garbage.

Yeah the pp90 at close range kills the mp7, the MP7 is great for medium range though, its the only SMG that has half decent range. you really need to use it with rapid fire for it to be usefull though.

I'm sick of seeing the MP7 so much. I personally don't think it's overpowered, but I guess it has to be if so many people are using it. That many people don't just decide to use a gun unless it's overpowered.

It's definitley not OP. It's "user friendly". It really is a good all around gun that didn't start getting overused until recently. I, for one, use it way too much, but it's like telling an alcoholic to put down the drink.

I've seen a large amount of it ever since I started playing (~2 weeks after the game came out). I don't think that qualifies as "recently."

And yeah, I guess it could just be user friendly like the ACR, but I can't help but think that there might be something more. A large group of people don't all decide to use a weapon unless there's something to it.

You could be right. I, personally don't use rapid fire or extended mags. I use a silencer and that really knocks it down for me. I suppose RF with scavenger could make it more over the top. I'm going to skip using it altogether next prestige to see how much I depend on it.

Re: Why do I feel cheap for using the MP7.

Personally I have little boundaries regarding OP guns, as I'll use any I like constantly. I love the T95 for instance, but the mp7 is a recoilless smg, it takes little to no skill to use, I myself find it too cheap to use, best all-round smg in the game no doubt, but the other smgs can compete with it certain cqb some are better there too, they just require more aiming ability to be as good mid and are clearly less on range with range on. It's like a scar on crack (with smg abilities) & with less recoil.

Like one person mentioned - You've earned it. If you're like me, then you've fallen in absolute love with it, and used a token to bring it with you. You'll play the better part of your following prestige with it, then shelf it for certain game types, maps or instances.

Let's face it. This game offers an array of guns for different play types and situations. There will always be someone to cry about something or another and that's just a fact of life. It's not only in this game...

That being said, what do you usually run? I love "Range" on it. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the HAMR scope. I typically play HC, but when I'm playing Core and on a CQC type of map I'll put on the HAMR and laugh between rounds or what have you when I listen to the people ask me why I'm using that particular scope. I think it's Stability (scoped in sway reduction?) + HAMR is beast. However typically I'm running Extended Mags / Silencer > Extreme Conditioning > Hardline > Dead Silence w/ Specialist: Quick Draw > SoH > Scav with a Stinger on my back to take out pesky UAV's

I noticed the HAMRs Red Dot has NO BOUNCE. I ended up not using it anymore because pushing left from spawn and how much it obstructed my view was really annoying.

That being said, it had been tested on YouTube and it seems Range doesn't really help an SMG very much beyond mid range. It would probably be more beneficial to have kick or focus. Of course, the fact that the HAMR increases your range already may actually make Range work further, but I'd have to test that.

Re: Why do I feel cheap for using the MP7.

You know how it is with any of the recoilless automatics. Statistically they may not have an obvious advantage, but you just can't quantify the sheer ease of use. And it is very, very obnoxious to be fighting someone at range and have the flinch totally screw you over just because he didn't have to slow his fire rate to land consecutive hits while you do. That's the factor everyone forgets about.

They're not 'overpowered' per se, but no question they are training wheels for the various children and morons who wandered into the crowd. If you want to use them, be my guest. But don't expect to impress anyone with nonexistant skills that these weapons only exist to make up for.
