Don't take this game like a life-or-death situation.

It's a GAME.

If it's important to you, that's fine. But in general K/Ds (like W/L ratios) are not all that important.

Why else would the game developers put so little emphasis on K/Ds and more on Game Score Total?

I'll say this if as you mention, what I say  on this forum reflects on me as a person.  "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of a feeble mind."  I sometimes go back and watch a game from the perpective of the guy that went 5-20 and realize that there's a pattern to the poor game play.  It's a consistancy in going after the same camper over and over or going down the same route over and over even though it's totally covered.  To me that says it's not talent that the player lacks, it's common sense and an awareness that they are impacting the whole team.  It's TEAM death match not team and a-guy-named-bob-doing-whatever deathmatch .  If you were on the basketball court or the soccer field coaching or playing and had a team member doing foolish things like that you might think...hey this person doesn't care about the team. Just because its a video game doesn't mean that the same lessons one learns in team sports about team work, communication and helping others cannot apply.  Just my opion.
