Should the next COD be simple....Like COD4?

I was thinking, maybe a big problem is that there is just too many things to the game that it causes problems. If they make the next cod as simple as COD 4, will it be good? Possibly great and we can get the COD game back we grew up with. Agree or Disagree?
Yup.
Also remove
-Machine pistol secondaries.
-Deathstreaks
-"Pro" Perks
-Every killstreak except for UAV, Airstrike and Helicopter.
-Lock-on launchers.
Return:
Stopping Power and Juggernaut.
Simplicity.

No stopping power or juggernaut.
Pro perks give you something to work towards
But yeah, COD4 nostalgia

Oh, so we should just make UAV-Jammer the #1 tier 2 perk again? Also, "Pro" Perks don't even live up to their name. *Insert easy mode challange here.* *Complete said easy mode challenge in less then 2 hours.*
Disagree, the modern warfare games are shitty....go back to the real war cod's.
Do I want? Yes.
Will they do it? No.
Why? Less sales.
I agree, to me simplicity is what makes a good FPS. CoD4 was simple, much like Halo CE. The subsequent halos were NOTHING like Halo 1.
For some reason devs think the more features they add in a game the better it will be. I don't get it.
Sadly, devs get criticized for not doing just that. People get pissed when the same game is essentially 're-released,' and that is why the devs work to get new stuff out there. A lot of people have complained about this game being MW2.5, and yet here we are wishing it was MW1.5. It's pretty much lose-lose for devs.
Halo Anniversary wasn't hated so I wouldn't think the community would hate the devs for re-releasing COD4 using the IW 5.0 engine
I would be happy with a COD4 Reloaded as long as the price is reasonable (similar to Halo Anniversary)
You have a good point. I was focusing more on a year in and year out product, but the throwback would be cool.
I also wanted to point out that a lot of people use the same killstreaks when playing there isn't a big variety like IW thought there was going to be in people. It's a bit dumb. I miss playing the simplistic CoD4, also back on PS2 was Killzone 1.
I just don't understand why they have to be sooo compicated now, I also agree Halo 1 was the shiz over the other Halos.
AGREED.BUT i think jug and stopping power shouldnt be in it and only 1 perk to stop u getting seen by uav's like in cod4 i wouldnt mind a cod with no killstreks or perks tbh also make it so u get 3 times the points for capping rather then kills that should stop killwhores and make more teamwork

I think MW3 in its current state is absolute garbage but lets be honest its all about perspective. Sure COD4 seems simple now because we've been flooded with features in modern games. But if we rewind the clock to when we were first playing COD4 it was anything but simple.
Hell the ability do go prone, ADS, and customize your class were amazing new features in an online shooter. Only a handful of shooters back then allowed you to do such things.
In a few years well be playing MW9 and we'll reminisce about how simple MW3 was
omg thats going to be absolutely horrible. Imagine the killstreaks. On the upside, lag probably will be non existent by that time.
COD4 Reloaded (Similar to what happened Halo Anniversary)
- COD4 using the IW 5.0 engine (used in MW3)
- 2x Frags (instead of 3x Frags)
- Removal of Last Stand/Martyrdom (replaced by different perks)
No problem with Stopping Power & Juggs returning. Juggernaut was part of my anti-quickscopers class.
If they made it simple then it's really just CoD4 with slightly better graphics. They have to add new features and items and complexity to make it seem like you're actually getting a new game.
But I do agree that the simplicity of CoD4 is attractive. Maybe they should make a game mode that has that simplicity, instead of hardcore mode it should CoD4 mode.
To answer OP's question:
Yes.
IMO, the best call of duty's have been the simplist.
COD: 3 was amazing
COD: 4 was great
COD: WaW was innovative - still fun, but cheep in some respectives
COD: MW2 - Fun, until everyone started using OMA and camping.
COD: BO - So different that it killed the game. Didn't feel like COD at all. No reason to use a gun to get different attachments because you could just buy stuff. Felt like a prestege rush.
COD: MW3 - Brought back the IW feel. For a game two years in the making though, it feels broken, abused, and at some points, unplayable.
It's been a downward spiral.
I want a game where I can choose my classes like MW, level up the gun like in MW2, and have a use attachment, gain attachment addition, like MW2
like FMJ -> Extended mags
I could sit here making you a list of everything I want in that game.. down to the last pistol.
COD4 had a soul. This company has lost their's. I'm afraid we've seen the best of this series.
Next COD shouldn't be like any other COD. They need to move forward and stop milking the same damn cow, it ran out of milk a long time ago.
Good thread

i asked 402 on twitter and treyarch fix cod 4 and WAW
there the last 2 COD's i loved
there filled with broken and modded lobbies
i'd love for them to remake COD4 the way it sat...i'd pay 40 bux for it too just like the halo remake
SP and Jugg balaned each other....don't go screwing with that...noobscoping has gotten out of hand...if you can noobscope a headshot while i'm juggin around a big map...i'll shake your hand...otherwise be prepared to pump 2 into me..
ugh i miss that game
i don't see how they can sell cod4 and WAW knowing there are people with god mode and other BS
