Is there a legitimate reason to keep Tactical Insertions in COD?

Yes, we know them. Those scumbags that hide in a building or in the bushes running Ghost/Cold Blooded, silenced weapon and a Tactical Insertion.
But why do both Treyarch and IW intend to keep the tactical insertion in Call of Duty when it's just being abused by boosters even if it is banned in FFA in Black Ops. They will find methods of getting into an objective game mode and boost there.

There is a theatre mode. Boosters will be banned if IW follows up on Treyarch's efforts. Tactical insertions are good for objective modes because clearly IW and Treyarch cant figure out a proper spawning technique. No, it should not be taken out.

Judging by Infinity Ward's track record with security, they have been poor with MW2 & COD4 but hopefully they do what Treyarch have done in terms of banning boosters, glitchers and hackers in Black Ops.
To be honest, the only players I see using T.I's in Black Ops are mainly for demolition spawn trapping or boosting in objective game modes.

This. They are quite invaluable in CTF.
I think they should remove it, The majority of users of the TI use it to boost or spawn trap in demolition and many other annoying other uses for it.

it's a lot smaller than you think.. there are plenty out there who use it legitimately.
Tac inserts are op and I think players should fight to an objective vs forcing the spawns. Only weak players use TIs.
those same weak players are making you work for your flags too huh... doesn't sound weak to me
makes the game different...only little cheats boost..and who cares? ruin the game for themselves...if they boost for killstreaks..you go out ...find them and kill them a few times and they generally leave
tact inserts are great for objective games...and can stop you getting spawn killed on certain maps with the rest of your team

Also im pretty sure they will incorporate the boosting report button and get kids banned so i don't see a problem

TI shouldn't be removed from the game. It is perfect for objective games and can be very effective when used correctly. It isn't hard to figure out if someone is boosting in your team-based game, just pay attention to what's happening on the screen. If you see that the same two names pop up together frequently, you know there is boosting going on. If you see a skull constantly popping up in that same area on your screen, there is boosting going on. If you see boosters, don't complain, do something about it. Theater mode is in MW3, report the players, you have undeniable proof.
I'm not complaining, I do what I have to do with cheaters. Trust me, I report boosters, glitchers and hackers (from WAW/MW2/COD4) on a regular basis. I try to make the games clean.
I'm just someone who believes in fair play.
Yes, I do know about theater mode (my clips came from my recordings), I know where to find boosters but do we really need to spend our precious game time looking for these boosters?
It is an effective piece of equipment no doubt when used correctly but most of the time I see these tactical insertions, they are either:

Tactical insertions are probably the best equipment you could have in objective games when playing against tough teams or playing by yourself. Ever play headquarters or ctf and you're whole team is completely useless? I use tac inserts in HQ to spawn near the headquarters and keep the other team off of it until my team shows up to cap the HQ and win. If it wasn't for tactical insertions there would be so many games I would lose because of useless teammates that want to play TDM in objective games. At least with tac inserts I give myself a bigger chance of getting the objectives, flipping the spawns and possibly encourage teammates that are spawning near me to help get the damn objective!
Thank you IW for making killstreaks point based and objective based! I hate you TDM campers in my objective games!
tatical insertions are great for objective games but sadly they have been abused by boosters and spawn killers
Tactical Insertions are perfect for care package protection ( this is the main reason why I use them).
Also found good use for them when people would just run to the same spots over and over again (the map array was perfect for this ).
People are always going to cheat you cant really stop these as**holes , all you can do is make thier life a little more difficult.
Booster hunting (in mw2) was hilarious and real good fun actually .
I have to admit I diddn't see much Boosting going on in Black Ops , not saying it wasent going on obviously but I think Treyarch did a good job trying to keep it under control.
Capture The Flag. Hide the Tact Inst. near the enemy flag, if you are the runner. Keep the enemy team on their toes. Also, it is a great way to suprise the enemy in other game types....
I would only agree to tactical isertions on the basis the Sledgehammer keep an even closer eye on blayers than Treyarch did in Black Ops. As shown in your post, Black Ops is still riddled with boosters. There needs to be a tighter system, but I doubt that will ever happen. The easiest thing would be to completely remove tactical insertions, and that would be my preffered method. Besides, the only "legitimate" (using the world lightly here) use for them is spawn killing in demolition, which is practically cheating.
I really hope that the tactical insertion will be removed as I hate fuckn boosters and cheats. I dont get the point in using tacs as soldiers in real life only have 1 life and yeah I know its only a game but they tryn and make it like realistic as possible so activison and sledge hammer games please take the bloody tacs out
In that case you can get rid of spawning, fantasy heartbeat sensors and stun grenades. They're all figments of their imagination anyways.

i play demolition. and this is the perfect equipmnet when u have to plant the bomb. if u dont like tactical I. there r some perks that allow u to detect the TI, and problem solve
Look, I'm not here to offend anyone who uses the tactical insertion correctly.
I've heard from both the MW3 forums and COD HQ forums about how players feel about having a tactical insertion in the game.
As I see from my replies, it seems players do want to keep the tactical insertion in the game.
In my perspective, I want games to be clean of hackers, boosters and cheaters and wondered why keep a piece of equipment that promotes boosting. Why not remove it?
Understandly, spawns can be bad or a player want's to spawn near the objective.
Players use it for tactical use, that's fine by me.
I use them in Demo to make sure the bomb goes off.
Ive no problem with T.I's in anycase its better becuase if u stumble upon one u can gain an extra easy kill with a claymore or just sit with it till that person spawns. some call it camping i call it tactical killing.
games like TDM i dont actually think ive seen it used atall but dom and dem i get it allot and yet again i dont mind it. its an easy kill.
if u see boosters then report them they will be cought.
I use them constantly to great success. I can see where other players would be opposed to this. Your run of the mill GREEN GUY doesn't comprehend the use of these and usually end up taking a beating because of it. If anything, the OP should consider spinning his position to include that it includes an unfair advantage for teams. When used correctly TIs will make what should be just a normal beating and make it humiliating for the randoms. I'm not talking about DEMO spawn killing either, this method works great in all game types.

I'm not a big TI fan but there are valid reasons for having them in the game. Many people use them very effectively. I've said before , Once placed they should only activate after say 20-30 seconds it wouldn't stop boosters but it may help. If you use them and die instantly after laying one down, there was nothing tacticle about your choice for a respawn so it shouldn't work.
Maybe TI needs a rethink to make it more difficult for the Boosters, something along of it only working once or twice, or after a respawn it has to be relocated to another part of the map. This is just off the top of my head but I'm sure there are a lot of options, we just need something to stop the way the Boosters use it now.
I think they do still have a place. If you think about Mission on MW3 (whilst playing DOM), how much harder is it to win the game holding flag A and B vs. flag C and B? I find the team at A is much more likely to be spawn trapped and more unlikely to hold 2 flags. In this case using a tact insert, I try and keep my team spawning on or around C. The boosting etc is very unfortunate and it's unbelieveable that people need to go that low- however to take them out of the game for those that use them tactically is unfair. Why punish many for the action of a few?
Legitimate to keep TI in CoD? Yes. Ban them from certain game modes? They need to.
No need for a TI in FFA. They should also ban them from KC to stop people from cheating the system to rank up quickly.
They are useful in games like HQ +Dom, where you want to control your spawns. Maybe only allow them for HQ, Dom, and CTF?
Remove it from KC...
