The CoD meta game is all about "prestige" and getting unlocks.
No longer about "fun" because people play drop zone or Dom as if it were TDM, to do "more" with their time. Obviously, boosters take that to the extreme, but, IMO, they are all cretins.
It's what Bungie did right. Sure, people boost for unlocks there too, but the "prestige" comes from competitive playlists where people actually gain rank based on skill, not time sunk into a grind(or alternatively boosting) You can boost a high skill, but it goes away if you end up playing for any length of time at your boosted level, you get decimated.
