I'm still waiting for the optinal install so my blu-ray doesn't die on me........

I did some experimentation and it is quite interesting.  Here is what I did in an attempt to kill my good connection:

- I unplugged and went wireless on my PS3 (I was hard wired to the modem).

- I am still close to the modem so I lowered the wireless "Power Setting" to 25 mW so that it wasn't anywhere NEAR full strength (default was 400 Mw). 

- I throttled the wireless connection to 2 Mbps.  1 Mbps didn't allow me to get into a game for some reason (I might mess with that more later) so I had to step up one notch from the bottom.  The PS3 internet test showed it to be running at around 1.2 Mbps. 

- I  lowered the Upstream MTU on my modem to 1364 (from the default 1500).

Basically, I tried to choke my connection down to a point where it was just barely able to get into a game.  The results?!?  It played like an absolute dream! 

I played for a couple of hous and I raised my KD quite a bit.  It was amazing to be able to take damage and actually turn on someone and get the kill.  I didn't keep exact stats but I didn't go below a 3 KD more than a few games and the deaths that I got were deserved.  There were a couple of games that didn't go my way but it was a 180 degree turn around from what I was having before.  I got mostly awesome games with a couple of duds thrown into the mix rather than a whole night of pain punctuated by a couple of games that were tolerable.  It was an AMAZING gaming session.

In short...  It appears that if I want to have fun playing MW3 I have to KILL my connection but I will give it a few nights to say for sure.

Please let me know how this goes pneumatic.  I may just go ahead and follow your lead. Yesterday I got host as always.  I was getting killed before I could even see the guy turn the corner.  It was horrible.  As soon as I got hit with one bullet, I was dead.  There was no chance of me dropshotting or turning on anyone.  Even straight head to head I had no chance.  I have a 1.81 k/d which is the lowest I have ever had on any COD.  Lately it has gotten to the point where I struggle to go even.  I cant camp, I am a run n gun player and this game makes it impossible to do so.

Yep, I had the same experiences as host yesterday, not always mind you. Sometimes it runs good as host too imo, these are the games you can get a moab in, but you get many games as host where everybody is shooting laser beams at you and kills you instantly while you are in basic shooting blanks. I also got a game with 9, yes 9 different host migrations the other day, amazing that they never picked me host before that point.
