I used it a couple of times, it's actually pretty good with rapid fire / RDS.

Just gets over looked by the T95, not as good as the T95 but still good.

I picked up 2 different M16's in one game off of dead bodies.  One was running Silencer and the other some different attachments.  So I would assume people still do use it.

I love the M16 now!!!  I feel like when the game first came out during my 1st prestige it sucked.  I stopped using a 3-burst gun altogether because I didn't want to use the Type 95 because everyone does.  During my 5th prestige I tried it out again and I was really impressed.  I don't know if they "silently" buffed the gun or not, but to me they did something and it's a lot better.  It definitely isn't the Type 95, but to me it suffices it's purpose at long range/medium range.  My K/D is a 2 or around there with the gun, so that's deff. gone up and I got autumn camo for it in my 6th prestige.

I started using it this presitige. Got it up to level 30 about.

My god, it's the most inconsistant and downright awful AR in the game. I'll sometimes get 3 burst into someone close range and they wont die, then I'l 1 burst someone at long range.

If it's consistency wasn't bad enough. The attatchments you can use are limited. It has the worst iron sights in the game, so you need to have a red dot on it. But then you also need to have rapid fire to make up with it's inconsistency.

So you are forced to use the 2 attatchments proficiency.

Even with all that, it's just a horrible gun, with pathetic accuracy. There is not one aspect about it which is better than the type 95, other than it being unlocked at a lower rank.

Sure do. I have had an M.O.A.B with the M-16 in Free for all. It is a solid gun. HOWEVER. It is only solid when ran a certain way. I have been trying to get MOAB's with all guns. The M-16 was actually easy.... did it second try. Special Killstreaks........ lol. Here is ( what i found ) to be the best way to run that gun. 2 attachments. Red Dot ( w/stock dot) and rapid fire ( IT NEEDS RF) scavanger, hard, sitrep( all pro). Unlock quickdraw. then slight of hand. then assasin. All money from there. It is solid man. Just try to keep it at its strength. Mid to long. I run dual scorpians. When people come up on me. i just switch. sometimes the M-16 can get the kill but no consistantly. Keep using this gun and do not give up on it. When you think M-16. you think of the black opps M-16. These are different.... remember that.

I managed to get 1000 kills with the M16 but with the purpose of getting the M16 emblem but to use it as one of my preferred guns is not in the agenda.

Most of the maps are close quarters and requires more than 3 bursts to kill if the enemy is moving which is most of the time anyway. So, you easily lose out, even if you have a solid hit with the first burst, the enemy can easily kill you back with an automatic.

The M16 is consistent in MW1 and MW2 with that 1 solid burst kill. In MW2, it is on par with the one burst kill FAMAS. But in MW3, it lags behind Type95 so making this weapon a silly choice for gamers.

And thinking about it, you have a burst weapon (Type95) that kills in one burst making this effective in close, medium and long range and another burst weapon (M16) that would requires 2 solid burst shots (and more if enemy is moving), why the hell would you choose the M16?

Even if It is unlocked early, the disadvantages in using the M16 are still so great as compared to other assault rifles. Experience wise, the M16 is the worst assault rifle in the game, and the Type95 not only made it redundant but totally useless.

I use it in place of the type 95 now because i like the way it looks on the screen the sights seem lower IDK why, but it is very good when you get the hang of it. May I suggest the MK14, that my friends is the best assault rifle in the gameIMO.
