I was in the middle of doing a montage up, and I had a Eureka moment! We all want dedicated servers, and Activision wont supply them.
Sooooooooooo all they have to do is get Coca Cola and a few other companies to put adds into the game....we have billboards and drinks machines in the game anyway, it's not going to effect us if they have Redbull written on them.
So the companies pay Activision a kazillion dollars for the pleasure, and we get dedicated servers....simplez
It's a very rushed edited video, but it will give an idea of what COD might look like lol
I'm surprised they haven't done this already. EA has been doing it for years.
I bet someone will complain that they pick coke over Pepsi.

lol, pepsi is only there for when there is no coke ![]()
Nice idea and they'll probably do it.
Only you can gurantee the money won't go on dedicated servers.
just remember the movie Demolition Man.... Taco Bell wins the fast food wars....
Advertising is everywhere and it pays well, but I don't think cost is the reason they won't set up dedicated servers.
Those rich bastards are just being lazy. They have plenty of money and know that dedicated servers would make their games way more enjoyable, but why should they care when they are already selling so much.
You could donate the servers and they wouldn't use them because they are too lazy. They rather work on the next map pack to make millions off of instead caring about of how to make their game better and more fair.
Like I've said before, they just give enough to keep people coming back, and nothing more. It's really BS and they've recieved my last dollar on the Elite scam.
Your hired, as a cod player i would like you to be hired by i/w, thats the kind of thinking we need.
instead we have a load of ostrich's who hear there is a proble and run to the sand pit and stick the heads in there.
LOL I´m sure ATVI will hire you now Forrest
I wonder why they didn´t had the same idea years ago.
But really, this could work...
I really dont want to rain on your parade but there is no way in hell in game advertising would even cover a 10th of the cost to set up a dedi system for cod
you cited coke, they would need basically cokes entire yearly advertising budget , yes in theory your idea sounds great but in reality companies dont like advertising in games they dont get a good return on their investment and where you do see in game adverts the money they paid to be in the game is a fraction of what they would pay for a tv/magazine spot.
regardless of all of this, the only benefit of dedis for consoles is no host dashboarding or migration thats it, and no company in their right mind is going to throw serious amounts of money to fix something that is at most an annoyance.
I may be being a bit thick, but i though a dedicated gameing sever would help with the lag and not having differant host connection's for every game played?
im no expert, thats just what i thought it would do.
