Ok here goes a question.
In campaign, you can use the predator in the first stage, and it works fine right. My question is what makes it work there but not in multiplayer?
Notice that I'm not asking to add it at all or any of that, I'm just curious how they managed to make it work in campaign.
P.S: No trolling required.
It just takes a lot more RAM to run a realtime multiplayer map than it does to run a partially interactive campaign level, in multiplayer it would have to process a fully interactive map, the positions of 9 other players, their killstreaks and explosions etc. while using air support in the campaign level is really just a pre-programmed set of events against what is basically just background scenery and all you really do is hit targets.

Treyarch actually tried to put the predator missle in multiplayer. I was actually in a modded multiplayer match and the code for the predator missle is in there 100% including the sounds/ hud.They most likely cut it out because the Wii doesn't have enough power to render some of the maps from a bird's eye view like Resistance. Maps like Dome work perfectly though so give the Wii team some credit, they tried to go the extra mile but the Wii can only do so much....
Yeah I just before joined the lobby you were in (since I have you as an ally). I spectated someone using it, it looked nice, but like you said, the dev team could only go as far...
It works pretty good for smaller maps like Dome and Seatown. It would've been cool if Treyarch could've maybe made it like a map exclusive killstreak or something.
I don't think Seatown is THAT small actually, but on Dome I'm sure pretty much 60% of the map is always rendered, and if it was toned down even more it could very possibly work, but now we're just fantasizing about it, unfortunately.
I tried the Predator Missle on a few maps and Seatown and Dome had most of the map rendered out, and the parts that weren't were barely noticable.

Oh. I thought you were just asking for a video of campaine predator missle. My friend modded a private match and I used one, but I don't have a video of it. It caused a great amount of lag, and was really hard to use because of it.
Really? Because a local friendly neighborhood haxor allowed me to use the predator missile, and I didn't really notice any lag at all.

Hate to say it but it just looks way too bad. Our little white box can't handle it. Maybe it was for the best they didn't put it in the final game...
personaly, i think the killstreak is a certain kill cause you can see everyone unless their using assassin, so it is pretty good they didn't add it

The video is garbage. Yes, i'm aware. But I myself used the predator missile, and so did nintendont and Desimahdin. The predator missile looks GREAT on small maps. On big maps, the roofs on buildings are missing(ex.Resistance). But to be honest, there's not many big maps in MW3. Just saying, it looks better In-real-life-looking-at-tv.

I'd absolutely would love if they added this in the game, but I'd feel bad then.
Because first thing players would do is go on this forum and spam the hell out of it because of the "Graphics" for when you use the preditor missle.

Ok, here's the solution, since the big suggestion is useing the mini-map from rolling thunder-type killstreaks.
Here's what I say- use it layed over the whole screen, and zoom in with it. Don't worry about graphix, just make it useable, and have the green/red diamonds moving around, or use the classic triangles from the regular mini-map.

i love these kinds of posts. it's just like in black ops people put "why can you use the hind gunship and valkyrie rockets in campaign but not in multi. and the answer is not enough ram to load a real time map.
But, they make the campaign mapes scpecifically for that. Unlike MP maps...
