3G connections tend to have massive lag spikes, your ping may be just under a hundred (which is still high), but whats your jitter?

Right after save devise is chosen when loading multiplayer, before joining xboxlive scroll down to options in the main menu. You will see it there.

Good Job ! You found it 10 months AFTER he already found it

PS That "More Like This" section on the side brings up posts based on keywords. Usually very old posts.

they shouldn't remove it. Lag Compensation is important for P2P games. Every game has it except for Dedicated Server games(TF2,BF3,GOW3). But what they should do is either have the old MW2 style compensation or just stop MW3 servers for 1-2 weeks and write a new network code and restart. 1-2 weeks is long but its worth the wait for fixing lag in this game. Its either that or lag fest for the rest of the games life cycle

All online games from Chess to BF3 have lag compensation built into the game. That includes dedicated server games.

To just change the parameters of a gun takes at least 5 weeks to test and patch on Xbox Live (if approved by Microsoft). If the patch is not approved then back to square one. The patch will cost Activision 40 thousand just to get approval. Also you have to include any agreements MS and Activision have for this game. Them using the Xbox Live Service for MW3 is not free to Activision. Pulling the game would not only break any contracts but put a plethora of fees in Activisions pocket.
There are no WM3 Servers to shut down.
All that can be done if possible is a tweak of two with a hotfix. That hotfix will later have to be permanent into a regular game update.
The network code on COD games really hasnt changed much since COD2.
Problem is that the game engine is beyond its use on an old outdated console.
Nature of the beast.
1 Give a deadline which in COD case is every year about the same time. Cant be changed.
2 Make the game and fix the 1000s of bugs by that release date.
3 Once the game goes Gold then try and fix the other bugs that showed up and patch them upon release.
4 Keep patching what you can.
The gaming industry is always on very tight deadlines. Having something delayed will cost millions of dollars to investors, Activision, Partners, Microsoft, etc.
