Well first of all it would be an OPTION, meaning you don't HAVE to install it, but you can, much like SSFIV. Also, its not that the noise is irritating, but that too much stress spinning the disc and not loading from a cache off the HDD puts strain on the laser of your blu ray drive. Overtime the stress could cause your blu ray drive to stop working. In order to extend the life of the drive, they could do one of two things, add the OPTION to install, or release the game on the PSN store as a full download. Its a simple patch as I myself have an 80gb so I know about the lack of memory as the 80gb is not much at all, however as an OPTION, you can still run from the disc, but you're risking your blu ray drive going out before it should.

No other game I own makes my PS3 constantly make noises the way this game does. It's blatantly clear the disk drive is working overtime to read and a direct by product is the laser being overused leading to eventual failure.

Sad thing is it's extremely unlikely anything will be done at this point. Just give us what we all want, the ability to download to hdd and run it straight up from the hard drive. Most users run on ps3 systems that have the hard drive room so there's no excuse, those that don't will just have to use the disk as is. But atleast they have/had an option. Just my 2 cents. Oh and Robert's quote on twitter was insulting on this matter, more needs to be done then making a quip about the job of a disk reader etc.

I would like this option as well.
