Currently Being ModeratedRe: Optimizing your connection on the Xbox - The Elagaphant strikes back (updated 7th NOV)
If anyone could help me out (Maccabi or someone else who is savvy connection-wise) then I would be greatly appreciative, because at this point the entire COD series has become a frustrating, unplayable mess for me. I'll do my best to describe my problems, have all my gear and setup listed, and also my connection and ping results. So if someone happens to read this and can offer me any advice to help, please do.
1) My problem: I have experienced the same things with Black Ops and now in Modern Warfare 3. I appear to be behind what is actually taking place in game, despite being on an unchanging 4-Green-Bar connection every game. The majority of the symptoms I have have been covered numerous times before, but nonetheless I will list them. I am shot around corners even when I appear to have taken cover in more than enough time (I never took damage when I was out in the open, only after getting to cover). Many times on my screen enemies appear to run around the corner already firing their gun right at me, as if they knew exactly where I was. Now I know the discussion on the killcam thing and how it's not an accurate representation or whatnot, but when watching it I see the enemy come and view me just standing/sitting there and shoot me no problem. I've also had the common occurrence of getting anywhere from 6-7 hitmarkers on an enemy and then dying in what appears to be one shot. Once again, the killcam shows me either never hitting the enemy or never even shooting my gun.
* On a side note before I can continue, I'd just like to say that in Black Ops I always chose the Locale Only search function. And when playing MW3, if I do not get connected to a game <50 ms ping, I will back out and search again.
2) My Hardware and Setup
I have an Xbox 360 Elite 120G (bought in Jan 2010). I am hardwired via an ethernet cord to my Linksys WRT320N Router which is maybe 20 ft away, and I have an Arris WMB760A/B Cable modem. My NAT is set to open, my MTU is currently at 1500 and I have UPnP enabled. I have in the past tried changing my MTU upon suggestion (I followed Maccabi's thread on the BLOPS forum) to 1364, and then in incriments but saw no difference or change. I think this may cover all the needed info on this section but I can answer any other questions which you might have that I may have forgotten.
3) My Connection and Ping
I have a 20D/4U connection from Comcast. I live in Jacksonville, FL. Nothing special, but should be more than suitable for gaming. - http://www.speedtest.net/result/1591924427.png
I pinged servers in Philadelphia, Austin, Los Angeles and Lynnwood (the furtherest away city in the U.S I could ping) and these are my results. All servers were pinged 3 times in a row, and all produced the same results each time.
Philadelphia, PA - 40ms Ping, 3ms Jitter - http://www.pingtest.net/result/50561287.png
Austin, TX - 60ms Ping, 3ms Jitter - http://www.pingtest.net/result/50561344.png
Los Angeles, CA - 81ms Ping, 7ms Jitter - http://www.pingtest.net/result/50561229.png
Lynnwood, WA - 93ms Ping, 3ms Jitter - http://www.pingtest.net/result/50561148.png
*Also to note, when I am playing the game no other devices are connected to or running off the internet connection.
4) Finally I'd just like to say that I never experienced any of these symptoms in COD4 or MW2 (didn't play W@W) but I have had this recurring problem in both BLOPS and MW3. If anyone can offer me any suggestions or help, it would be greatly appreciated. If you took the time to read this, then Thank You and I really hope to hear back. Any other questions I'm happy to answer.

I cannot find any games when searching (this is when my xbox is wired to my wireless router) BUT when i wire my xbox to my modem ill find games in 2 secs. ive tried port forwarding, and everything else. Nothing works even bought a new wireless router and still did the same thing. Will an expensive router do the trick? or buy a wireless adapter for my xbox? Please help!!

Note: I have my router, and PS3 connection settings tweaked to the best possible settings I could find.
