Chopper gunner and Gunship are terrible!!

Ok, so a lot of people complained about the air support being over-powered on MW2, but now, they are under-powered and not worth the extra difficulty to gain them. You make it so we need gun kills only for the killstreak reward, and then you make the heli ridiculously weak. The copper gunner can't shoot through a thin piece of metal, and almost every time I call a chopper gunner / gunship in, they get shot down within the first 10/15 seconds or so. It's pathetic. They are harder to get, and they are awful when got. If you are like me, and cannot get an 11+ killstreak really easily and so often, then you are really dissapointed and annoyed just to have your hard earned reward destroyed instantly.

Gunship<Dogs. Its too bad when the enemy has a gunship in the air but when they have dogs, your chances of winning go down heavily no matter what map or perks you have.

Chopper Gunner is alright. The only reason why I prefer Attack Dogs over the Gunship is because it can be a bit unreliable at times.
Plus, the Gunship often gets so happy when it joins the fray that it starts circling the map in joy (without user intervention) - especially on Ground War.

If the Gunship is so terrible then how is it that I average over 10 kills per heli with over 450 called in?

Simple solution use dogs. Also I shoot down your Gunship/Chopper Gunner because im not in the mood to repeatably get spawn raped.

Lol I went 117 and 20 earlier off 1 gunship and 2 chopper gunners, I love the gunship, its quite fun.

Killstreaks in Black Ops are way better then in MW2. Just for fun, i counted how many times i would get a nuke if it were possibly so i only used blackbird and chopper and i would get a nuke every single game and this was in reg tdm... In MW2 i cant get a nuke by just using harrier and chopper, i have to get like 10 more gun-kills when im done with the chopper...

I'm averaging about 5-6 kills with each of them. Seems a fair return to me. And I'd say slightly less than half actually get shot down, which I find surprising because if the enemy gets one I want it out of the sky ASAP.

What Cracks me up about those is that

1. Seldom does a Strela Rocket hit my ship ( So Easy to Avoid if you're smart >_>)

2. Certain Maps like Sumit you can pretty much shoot it down before it even is enabled.

However I do feel your pain it's like "Really you're hiding behind a crate on WMD and my Bullets can't get you" Where as the effen Attack heli in mw2 shoots through buildings regardless of how giant or thick it is (I.E. Quarry where Dom A is xD)

I miss stackable KS' though...good times goooooood times

I remember reading another thread regarding that the 'bullets' from the Chopper Gunner and the Gunship are coded to behave as explosives, and so they will detonate upon striking an object, and not penetrate. Flak Jacket provides some protection, too.

Even if the bullets were coded to behave as proper bullets, penetration would lead to imbalance. There's got to be some cover from the airborne beasts.

CoD is not a realistic series, nor does it pride itself on being such. If you want realism and destructible environments, play Battlefield.

There has to be a way to avoid being killed from a Chopper Gunner/Gunship. You earning a 9/11 Killstreak does not entitle you to earn a free 20+ kills.
