Will split screen vs. mode return?

Is combat training the same thing as split screen versus or not. If I don't have xbox live will I be able to level up with my friends. Is there going to be a separate vs. mode? ANSWER MEE!!!

Well I have Live and well sorry dude but i would highly dought that you could play with them.

are you guys sure?
I would like to know this too, i loved ranking up in splitscreen in MW2, it gave split screen more of a challenge.. and well a reason to play it.
