Eh; once I get COD:BO I won't be returning to MW2. Then again, once the next epic entry in the COD series comes out a year after COD:BO, I could pretty much not play COD:BO after that.......but post-COD:BO is way off in the future right now.
I'm mostly playing MW2 as an excuse to progress through Multiplayer; I'm 4th Prestige and working my way up again. I've also been playing MW2 in order to train for COD:BO. Earlier this month I was playing MW2 and I kept getting killed left and right.....but now my skills are getting better, not so rusty as I once was....but I still get killed over and over because, well, everyone else is more experienced than I am, because they must've played this game every day since it came out.

The only good thing I have to say regarding MW2 is that it set the bar so low that the next game would literally have to TRY in order to be worse. The only thing MW2 succeeded in doing was demonstrating what happens when you buy a game on hype alone.
I'm actually a little disappointed Black Ops has as many pre-orders as it does. I had hoped people would've learned their lesson from MW2, and waited to see more information regarding BO before shelling out the money. I plan on renting this one first before buying it. That's what MW2 taught me.

Play WAW? But I thought COD:BO was going to use similar game mechanics from MW2. That's why I'm doing MW2.

However if anyone thinks that the problems with MW2 won't carry into Black Ops then, well I won't ruin the surprise for you.

I don't think I'll miss it. But I'll be honest I'm still addicted to playing MW2. With all it's flaws it's still fun. I just get pissed when people take advantage of it's flaws.

You say that like you know for certain. Have you seen something we haven't?

The idea that with Black Ops we will see a whole new install base without cheap/noob and hacking/glitching players is insane. Are they all really going to on MW2???
We will see some of the same problems because of the same people coming to Black Ops from MW2

There are some basic things that will never change. But that doesn't mean the game has to cater to those strategies. MW2 encouraged Camping, did nothing to stop the hacking, and allowed the continued abuse of unlimited tubes.
By Treyarch's words, they've got a heads up on how all the hacks are done, and have counter measures built in to prevent it. The Camping can't be stopped, but they can limit features to not encourage it. Tubing can be properly balanced (Delay at start, no unlimited tubes, reduced explosive radius).
So there can be alot of problems from MW2 fixed.
