There is a new Xbox dash board slated for  Nov. It is said to have the ability to scan xbox's for flashed drives and ban them (ban Jtags) we can only hope this will fix the jtag problem. Also trearch has a good record of game support, much better than IW so we can only hope

You are half right.

The November update can scan for flashed DVD drives and can update the check on the fly.
Meaning they won't have to issue a new dash update when the hackers find a way around it.
Since most JTAGs have a flashed drive this will ban them quicker.
What isn't known yet is if they speed up the time between recognizing the xbox being JTAGd and getting banned.
When the new dashboard comes out JTAGs won't be able to go online until hackers get the new dash and reply the ability to run unsigned code.

MS is smart they stopped the JTAG before it was released on how to do it.
The problem is old consoles on the shelf that don't have the Summer 08 update.
Once a console gets the Summer 08 update it CAN'T be JTAGd.
I am 99% sure they will permanently stop JTAGs from going online or when they do go online they will get banned within a few minutes.
