if i am correct (which i doubt) xboxlive is the server Microsoft use to provide you with games on demand, videos, and arcade games. it also provides you with connective to twitter and facebook via xbox console (xbox 360) it also has insider xbox which provide you with news and gaming knowledge and how to operate your xbox. Also the very basic of them all it connects you to mulitiplayer yes yes it does
