I was online yesterday when i got kicked out of the game and it kept saying the server is unavailable.

I checked online and it says DEFCON4 which i understand is minor maintenance?

Anyway, that was 15 hrs ago and it still says unavailable.

I got a friend to sign in on my console and he was able to access the game just fine...

Now i'd like to know why i can't access on my account.

I don't boost or cheat.

I watched some video in the community part of BO and it said "watch to become infected", which gave me weird program like words all aruond the screen, so im suspicious about that and the subsequent (what appears to be) ban.

I hope these forums are moderated, i'd like an answer.

Hi this morning I clicked Team Deathmatch. It was 2v2 however when I threw my nova gas through a door I instantly died doing this 2 times. I back out and checked my rank. It changed looked at guns all locked -198668 points I was 49 1st prestidge before this. I had 3000 points as well. His gamertag is YanKees8e. My rank after match level 1 1st prestige now I have 20000000 XP I must earn before lvl 2. Anyway my stats can be reset?:(

hi, i was playing black ops and when i called in a mortar strike, it kept going the whole game. i do not hack! i was thinking it was a glitch or something? anyways, some ******** in gamechat were harassing me calling me "hacker ***" and all those other wonderful insults... and they said they all reported me and recorded the gameplay on a "pvr", whatever that is... can i get banned from a few reports? and if so can i prove that i didn't hack?! there's got to be something like some sort of system files from my xbox that i could send to someone at treyarch. i don't want to be banned for something i didn't even do! PLEASE help!

Recently, there has been a huge wave of banning. This is not the gaming communities fault for glitching the game. This is a mistake and its not always done on purpose. Let me explain what this glitch/hack do. First the incident happened in the theatre, a hacker has recently put a video that infects people, infect, this is also means that people doesn't always know what can a infection do for you or what it is. Anyways, after you get that infection, then you look for a game. Well in this case, demolition, after they get into a game, the person who has watched the very popular film/clip on the theatre, which is a infection, has been made the host and accidentally infects the whole lobby without knowing and gets millions of xp. See the scenario here? This person probably got banned, for what? Hacking the game. I just wanted to make my point. My suggestion is, unban everyone who was thought to be hacking and patch the hack ASAP. Thank you for having th time to read this.

Banned for using "Finnish Air force" logo on emblem?

Hi, i just noticed that i cant use emblem editor and my account (Traakit, Xbox360) is banned to use that feature? I had finnish airforce logo on my emblem, and text "Finnish airforces 18-45 [1918–1945], so whats wrong with it? Singe its nothing offensive and its look like this,(for them who dont know what it look likes}

Three days. That's how long I've been unable to play the ONE game I play online. I understand this game is, what, over three years old? And I understand in the last couple weeks, there has been a hack going around that allowed users to have infinite mortar teams and invisible everylasting nova gas, and it was impossible to play in such a game. I feared that no one was moderating this game anymore because BO 2 was the money maker now, and thought if went unfixed, this game would be literally dead within two months because everyone would either have the hack or no one would want to play under such conditions. So when I first logged on and got the "server unavailable" screen, I was actually relieved. This surely had to mean they were fixing the hack. So I dealt with it. And then the second day came and went with the same message. "Wow, this hack must have been more prevalent than I thought, it's really taking them some time to do this. Surprised they havent issued a statement yet." But then today, still unable to play online, still nothing but silence. This is absolutely absurd. Technical issues are one thing, and I'm sure the majority of PAYING CUSTOMERS would understand it, but we don't even know if that is the cause for the server unavailability and THAT is the true cause off frustraition. Mine, at least. How can a company like Activision and/or Treyarch not release a statement?

Also, to summarize others' posts:

-some people are able to play, some are not, and some are able to play under one account but not the other (usually the highest ranked -usually 15th- prestige is unable to play)

-some people used the hack, some people claim innocence (and I don't doubt it.) It appears the server availability has nothing to do with if youve used the hack or not. maybe you played on a team where someone DID hack and a competitor flagged everyone on the hacker's team. BUT WHO KNOWS BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING!!!

-no one has been banned. "server unavailability" does not equate to banned. Apparently if you were banned, you would have been notified as such.

What can we as a community do? Nothing, it appears. Yeah, we could band together and get organized and show them how many people they've pissed off.... but we all know that won't happen. We're all just going to hope this thing fixes itself when we all wake up in the morning. sigh.

It'd be great to have a mod actually say something on these forums about the current situation.

However, the Admin was last online about a month ago, so it really shows how much they care about keeping in touch with their customers...

So I've been unable to connect to the black ops server for about 4-5 days now and I am getting pretty ticked off. I've been told its because I was banned along with many many many other people yet I have never done anything ever on this account to break the rules except for maybe throw a couple of cuss words here and there(which should be only about a 2 day ban). I hope that activision decides to actually care enough about their customers to make sure they are banning people that have actually done something wrong. Many of my friends have also been banned and I am pretty sure they haven't done anything either. Well hopefully they figure their crap out soon cause there are a lot of people that are ticked off because of this.

Ok again I spoke with another Treyarch worker and he said they are currently tyring to resolve the problem. Hes asking everyone for their patience and they're trying as hard and as fast as they can to fix the server.

How to get bots on black ops

Hi all, iv looked everywhere for answers I think here is my last chance. I want bots in multiplayer mode on my black ops (on Xbox if it makes a difference) I don't have live and I don't have broadband. But I played it in offline mode on my friends xbox. But I cannot get it on mine. Iv updated my dash do I need to update the black ops? I have an Xbox arcade. When I go to multiplayer, local, split screen I cannot see the option to edit game options, where you choose how many enemies and allies you have. Has this happened to people before? I really want this option that's the whole reason I got an Xbox. Can someone help me get this option please or tell me what to do in order to get it?

I recently joined a team tactical game where everyone was killing themselves with grenades for some weird reason. So i kill myself with one just randomly to see what is going on and then right after i do that some weird numbers pop up like -1000 or something like that i think i might of been hacked and it says my cod points were also negative please help me message me for my gamertag it would be really apreciated if you could reset me back to level 1 or recover my details thanks.

is anyone having this issue today? i have a open nat,etc and never had an issue connecting to the server. now I can't and my friend in the next town got kicked off during a game cuz the server was no longer availble. i have lots of friends that can still connect. is there a geographical issue with assigned black ops servers?
